Hooray for Hirdy!

Postby Rik E Boy » Fri Feb 25, 2011 1:06 pm

How funny was it last night at the end of that NAB Cup game. The Bombers fans were ecstatic after their win over Melbourne, practically a standing ovation for the messiah as he walked down to join his players. There was even a Hirrrrrrrrrrrrddddyyyy chant.

LMAO these idiots think they know the meaning of football pain. What is it, a mere two years since they last made the top eight? And a bigger bunch of sooks you won't hear when they think they haven't gotten that free (AWWWWWWWW!) that they still seem to think they have a divine right too even though Diver Lloyd has retired.

Always good for a laugh Essendon supporters.

I am because I am sick of cooking shows or sh*t cricket.
Got to agree with REB though..
The carrying on after the draw against the Saints and last nights game is funny to see..
I generally don't go much for Stephen Milne's antics on the ground but I reckon it was hilarious the other night when he was laughing at and ripping into the Essendon blokes after Williams kicked the goal after the siren...

Let them have their moment now....

Me!
But although I am happy for Essendon and the Hirdmeister I do accept the reality of pre-season BS and the skirt lifting that goes with it.
However, I'd rather see my team win these matches than get shown up with a winless record. The Hird/Thompson combination seems to be working and that has to be good for the club and supporters. The word from Windy Hill is that both of them are idolised by the playing group.

If James Hird can get them into the top four in round 22, then the club should a) put a bronze statue of him out the front of Windy Hill and b) ponder whether the feat means much, because it would mean eight teams have folded this year.

Yes i feel it is a bit over the top and it is only micky mouse stuff but im not bothered as long as they cough up and become members. Im hoping this pre season form will get an extra couple thousand join up.
And yes we are a proud club and these last few years have been diabolical and i think some of the fans see a glimmer of hope

You can't put Darel Hart in the same category/sentence/changeroom/planet as James Hird and Mark Thompson.

I say good on Hirdy and Thommo if they can get the Bombers to play their best and exceed expectations.

We were at the bottom a few years back and won the preseason comp twice, means nothing. Essendon to be bottom 4

NAB Cup form has held up in the season proper in recent years!!!

I hate Essendon just as much as the next bloke

BUT

FFS if some people want to enjoy watching their team win and they carry on a bit to much let it be, thats what football is about, watching your team win and enjoying the moment.

Agreed
The way Hird bitched & moaned about Essendon's situation over the summer, you would think that Essendon hadn't won a flag for 75 years, were $20 million in debt and
had finished on the bottom for the last 5 years.
Sanctimonious turds.
