After a disappointing 2010, North will be a different side this year, far more concistant and will rise up the ladder.....

Will be around the mark 6-12 for me.

Home of the Roo's for 2011!

FROM THE AFL SITE:

North Melbourne heads across to Perth for round one, before returning to Melbourne for a big clash with Collingwood at Etihad Stadium in round two.

There will be plenty of focus on the round seven clash between the Roos and Geelong at Skilled Stadium, which will be the first home and away coaching battle between twin brothers Chris and Brad Scott.

The Kangaroos play eight of their last 10 games in Melbourne and get their turn on the Friday night stage when they host Carlton in round 19.

I reckon North will make the eight.

Not this year, I don't reckon, but 2012 a big watch. Must still be pinching themselves about picking up Ben McKinley for so little, that will partially offset the loss in attack of David Hale. An underrated back half, and an emerging midfield, but still need to take the load from Brent Harvey. Getting quicker for pace, but would really want Daniel Wells to step right up this year.

That's it. Boomer does a lot of work up front now. They've also got an emerging midfield group that for mine is ahead of the Melbourne group. Apart from Swallow there is Adams, Greenwood, Anthony, Bastaniac, Cunnington, Ziebell and with Beaky Rawlings as the stopper. They've got the old in the new with H Mac and Goldstein in the ruck so these guys will come on fast.

The Roos were monstered by the top four teams last year but did OK against the rest. They finished ninth last year with a very young list and can only get better. Their defence was a bit leaky and they give up a lot of possessions to the oppo but I reckon North a good side who will sneak in this year.

Rawlings was more a small forward stopper though last year wasnt he? Greenwood did a bit of the negating role in the midfield. The returns of Ziebell and ANthony will be vital IMO, not just for this year but for years to come with games under their belt etc:

Got a soft spot for the Roos and would love to see them take the next step and start playing some formidable football. Finals football for the lads at Arden St!

Hale would have been delisted if not traded to the Hawks, was fringe at best last year and with Goldy's rapid development was 3rd choice ruck all year.

Bit harsh on Wells also, thought he had his best year in 2010 and was used beautifully by Scott in the quarterback role - 5th in the B & F.

As for Boomer, he still has it, a certain SAFooty member might not enjoy this though

At 25, rising 26 - so he should have by now.

yes,we made big strides last year but lets not get carried away with finishing just outside the eight.we were eqivalent to good three games out and never mixed it up with the big boys.difference between the big boys and us is the muscle definition in the midfield,work rate and the quality of excution of skills.all midfield problems.we have one of the best midfields coming through but it is still two to three years off.look for a big 2011 with alot more speed and endurance being the thing the club has worked on the most over preseason

The Kangaroos are always on the brink. It's getting to the stage now if you read 100 footy articles that maybe you can believe five of them. More beat ups than Mike Tyson these days.

The Kangaroos are not going anywhere.we might not have the most supporters in the league but you can not say that ours are not the most loyal and strong willed.we will survive even without the help of the AFL because the shinboners supporters will remain loyal to the end.
as for articles in the age,well carolyn wilson is their number one writer sothat says it all

Yes you can ... All clubs can lay claim to that fact.

St Kilda, Melbourne, Footscray etc have all experienced their share of testing times.

Not doubting the loyalty of the North Melbourne supporter base, but I don't think who is the most loyal or strong willed group is quantifiable.

Cant see the Kangas going anywhere,

dont think in this day and age the AFL will let any of the current clubs die off. Worse case scenario is they may be forced to relocate.

every year everyone writes off the roo boys, keep doing it because we do better then most clubs do with expectations..

our history is better then most clubs and we don't throw the big bucks around.. unless your the king of football..

yes,i know its early to start worrying but saw some bad signs so far
game plan based around the bigs up front yet we muk around with the ball down back and hold onto it to long
in the nab when we moved the ball fast and direct to a leading forward we looked better so if we are going to have a game plan lets make sure we actually work it right and let the players know because so far the kids looked confused
on a bright note liked the look of richardson across back and the new draftees looked promising if not light on but thats natural at this stage of developement
a big year for tarrant,hope he can go injury free

very dissappointed with start to season
cant keep talking about youth and age causing problem
no strenght of body mind or for that matter soul
