Well, after a magical 2011 for the Premiers, the big question is will they be able to go back to back this year?
Well, i think they can they have a wonderful list and will be dominant again this year.
I can't see anyone beating them in the grand final this year....
All talk on the maggies in 2011 right here!!
FROM AFL SITE:
Collingwood begins its premiership defence by hosting Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium in round one, but the Magpies are not expected to unfurl their flag until round three when they take on Carlton in a Friday night blockbuster at the MCG.
The highlights of Mick Malthouse's last season in charge include the traditional Anzac Day clash with Essendon, two matches against beaten grand finalist St Kilda, two meetings with Geelong and a night game against the Suns at the new Gold Coast Stadium in late July.
Collingwood has 18 games in Victoria, with 14 at the MCG and four at Etihad Stadium. Due to a quirk of the draw, the Magpies' four interstate trips are in the second half of the season.

Interesting comment about them making the GF. I really thought the same till they had a heap of retirements. That means their depth is reduced and although they didn't need depth last year, this year might be different. I think 'list depth' and injuries will be the difference in them finishing 1st to 4th.

WILL win at LEAST one more in the next 2 years.
I thought a few years ago that Brisbane were the best ever, then lately Geelong, but I don't see ONE weakness in this current Collingwood side. The only things which will change their destiny are GWS ($$$$$$$$$) and age. Until then..........they will set all kinds of records.

Collingwood will be right up there in 2011 and beyond. Perhaps the only thing they lacked previously was self-belief. They have that now so they are my favourites for the 2011 flag.

Hi Hoff,
Back to Back for the Pies.
But they must be an average team early.

I love the way the Magpies go about their footy and I would like to see them go back to back in season 2011. Hopefully they're putting in the hard work now to make that possible.

Had doubts their "boundary line" style would take them all the way, but sadly it did.
Pretty obvious they will be a strong contender again.

Did anyone else except me reckon that Collingwood were kissed on the dick last year? The bounce of the ball, umpiring..everything just came up Black and White last year.
They were the best side and deserved their flag but I reckon they got more than their fair share of luck last year. Still, I suppose you need that when you end up with the Silverware.
Let's hope the normal run of luck that Collingwood has returns this season.

REB

means this post is a subtle attempt at humour because at this stage everyone think Pies will win it again and therefore my tip doesn't hold much merit...
Note to self: try and be funnier next time

Yes, one that comes to mind Leigh Browns kick that seemed to bounce the opposite way to what the ball should go and through for a goal!

Agreed- they choked in the first GF, but were playing a side who didnt know how to take it from them! Still be tough to beat this year. Although we go OK against em...

Nathan Brown out for the season after rupturing his ACL. Was only going to get better as a player so this is a setback for him and the club. Thankfully there are other key defenders to step into his place (Tarrant, Reid, L Brown etc), although I am unaware if any of our recent draftees are tall defenders.

Was Brown going to be fullback or is Presti going around again? I don't see any of those blokes at fullback.
