Love this quote from the article:

We really want to play some exciting footy," said Lyon, who has taken his team to three Grand Finals without a win in the past two years.

Well, that is how many Grand Finals they have played in over the last two seasons. Or is the exciting footy from the Saints you find amusing ha ha.

I hate that photo..

I doubt Ross cares about "playing exciting football". Must be that time of the year when it is membership renewal time.

When St K were playing their best footy in 2009, a few people forget that they were averaging 100+ points per game (as well keeping their opponents to bugger all). The longer the year went though the scoring dried up, while the balance between attack and defence in 2010 was never quite right.

2009

Rounds 1-19 101 ppg
Rounds 20-GF 82 ppg

2010

Rounds 1-22 88 ppg
Finals 73 ppg

As a rule saintal scoring tends to dry up in finals anyway.

Except for the pies in GF replays.

Yeah but that wasn't exciting football. Horrible footy to watch can be justified when it ends in success and up to a point it has but the ultimate success has continued to elude this group.

quietly staying under the radar ... working quite well at the moment I'd say.
