Hawks sharpen the Axe!

Postby Rik E Boy » Wed Oct 20, 2010 12:17 pm

11 Hawks have been given the chop.

Cripes not mucking about the Hawkers! Surprised that Peterson was marched and I thought Skipper offered them something but the recruitment of Hale means that Skipper is off the pace (ACK, sorry!).

Ahh, after reading that the Hawks wanted to help Travis Tuck get through his issues, and support him, should I be shocked that Travis got delisted?

No, because they have always said they were going to delist him and still let him train over summer with the view to listing him with their last rookie draft pick. On Petersen, apparently he has missed to many training sessions and team meetings throughout the year.

And they said Tuck will be financially looked after until the date where he will either be listed or sacked in march.

With peterson, apparently his attitude is terrible, and he also missed the famous training session after the BnF at 5:30am. That was the last straw.

Im sure someone else will give him a go and see if they can change his attitude

Perhaps the funniest one here is Rhan Hooper. It was well known he had discipline issues at Brisbane so how could the Hawks expect improved discipline away from his home town? Did they really expect him to do anything else?

Only bloke given the chop who I think is half decent is Simon Taylor.

Rhan hooper actually decided to leave, not delisted as such.

Theyve sacked Skipper and Taylor, but kept the luckless Max Bailey on the list.

Jeeze they must rate him high!!

I reckon JKT goes alright and he'll kick on somewhere next year. Taylor is a spud, but an unlucky one due to that injury.

An exert from the Hawthorn website re: Travis Tuck:

In order to give Tuck the opportunity to be considered for the final spot on the Club’s Rookie List (open until March 2011) - in accordance with AFL rookie list rules - Hawthorn Football Club has had to delist Tuck.

General Manager Football Operations Mark Evans said Tuck will be given the opportunity to secure a spot on the Hawks’ Rookie List.

Peterson is frustrating but if he aint towing the line so be it.

Most of the others have been around long enough to demand a spot if they were good enough. JKT and Skipper a bit unlucky, reckon one of em may get "re-rookied"

After this many changes, if there isnt an improvement maybe some changes in the coaches box?
