THEY KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE GAME

Postby Rik E Boy » Sat Sep 18, 2010 2:35 pm

Full marks Collingwood. You are the best side in 2010 but remember the best side does not always go on to win the premiership. Malthouse has this team ticking like clockwork and the moment and the transformation of ex-spud Leigh Brown has been astounding. What a valuable player he has become for the Pies. In the past I could point to blokes like Leon Davis, Paul Medhurst, Shane O'Bree, Leigh Brown and Alan Toovey as reasons why they would never beat us in a big game.

One year later Brown and Toovey are playing career best football and the others have fallen by the wayside. Who in the Bulldogs or St Kilda side is playing career best football? I reckon this is a key indicator. Never like to lose of course but Collingwood are a great side and I hope Mick isn't grumpy next Saturday. I somehow doubt that he will be though..because the Pies are in form adn that is the ultimate late September commodity that accompanies premiership sides.

Well done Collingwood. They know how to play the game.

regards,

REB

Can't complain, just smashed us everywhere. Ablett only shining light. Feel sad that the inevitable has happened and a few of my heroes (Ling, Milburn and Scarlett) and up and comers (Hawkins) just weren't up to it!

"Backing" the Pies cos I hate Saint Ringhole but if Bullies get in would like to see them win it.

You'd think if a premiership is such a cakewalk, then they would've done it a couple more times in the last half a century.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Agree, they have the incentive of missing out last year and the gameplan to shut the Pies down.

Yeah I tend to agree. The Saints have everything to play for and have the pain of last year to spur them on.

St. Kilda in a close one.

glad your not making excuses REB but i thought the umpires raped the cats early but geelong did seem old tonight and the pies so young and fit and there average age would be about the same as most premiership sides

Yep, Pies were too good, have been all year... Nothing else to say, except have fun tanning your nude nut up on the GC Gazza.

I'll be cheering for them this week, would love to see Milne and Riewoldt crying again.
Collingwood deserve it and their crowd were bearable on Friday night.
As I said in the "Which AFL Club can you not stand" thread I've always quite liked them.
At least it will be a stress free week for me this week!
