I'm sure now the Bombers wish they had have taken more note of Hardwick's honest appraisal of their list, than they did Knights' overly optimistic one.

Hird has just said on FOX he doesn't wish to coach Essendon in the immediate future.

The story I've hird is that Hardwick's PowerPoint presentation failed (for what reason I don't know) and Knights's interview was a bit more 'slicker'.

Regardless of what you think of Knights, I reckon he is a bit stiff. I reckon their list and the experience their players now have is at the stage where it is next year it should be stamping itself on the competition

Was a terrible mistake to appoint him, apparently got the gig cause he was a good developer of kids, make him the Development Coach then, not the head coach!

Then in the middle of 2009 they extend his contract until the end of 2012  why? Where was he going?

Ended up being a $1m mistake, plus whatever they have to pay a new coach over and above his contract...

I was hoping he would drag them further down for a couple more years. :(
His game plan is flawed, he has the poorest list in the AFL all spine no “Guts”
He does not learn from his mistakes.
This should mean whoever takes over could not recover for at least 5 years with the next compromised drafts! :D

Knights is dead stiff. James Hird put his hand in Essendon's knickers but when Essendon dropped their panties he got a soft on and walked away. Now the bitch is all confused and has dumped her current boyfriend who while ugly, was at least loyal.
