Andrew McLeod retired

Postby Gingernuts » Mon Aug 23, 2010 3:21 pm

Now this bloke has been a real legend of the game. Won't be playing this weekend unfortunately.

The end of an era as the last premiership player retires from the Adelaide Football Club.

No chance. I reckon that Adelaide and Port will both improve next season.

Reckon both are a good shot at making finals next year. I'm actually not too concerned that we now have no premiership players. The club can stop living off those flags now and get on with winning some new ones.

IMO that's a positive. The Cows were overdue a cleanout and might just get away with it.

Out and out champion. Gerard Neesham is still not forgiven over here.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Reading McLeod's biography now, the account of that meeting was very interesting.

Did a bit of reading on Chris Groom. Was very unlucky to not be successful at the top level.

In the last few years, the three players I most enjoyed watching have retired.

Bassett, Aka, and now McLeod... :(

McLeod definetly the best of those three...

How long since there's been none of the Crows big 4 (McLeod, Edwards, Goody, Roo) or the Powers (Tredders/Carr/Burgoynes) better players in a Showdown?

Hardly going to be worth watching...

What a gun. One of very few of whom I have been able to stop the guernsey he wore from impacting on my opinion of him. I guess I can still picture him in the Black & White I love so much.

Saw him get 50+ touches in the Maggies reserves against Norwood one day and knew the name McLeod would be heard for years to come. A true champion of the game.

Liked him even more when he broke up with Lleyton.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!
