most have probabably thought about this by now, discussed tonight on the footy programme etc.

plenty of money will be free to play with after the following retire / leave:
Goodwin
edwards
bock
burton
mcleod (probably)
knights (posibility)

So who should we target? surely we can lure some sth aussies back home. i reckon monfries and griffin we should offer attractive amounts!

They are the two most likely prospects I reckon. Blokes like Gibbs & Cooney seem far too settled and in the 'untouchable' basket for their respective sides.

Didak perhaps? He seems pretty settled too though.

We have to hope that someone is homesick and requests a trade to be honest.

Not interested in Monfries, we've got Jaensch.

Didak recently re-signed.

Griffen would be amazing, but I don't know what we'd have to give up.

Definitely room to move in the cap and craigy would be mad not to trade and make the most of it before dangerfield and co demand big dollars in the future. I would think we had the ability to offer 2 very high contracts which were heavily weighted over the next 2 years and taper off for the following 1 or 2. With craigy suggesting we need some pace and outside midfielders Griffen seems like an awesome prospect. I know Eddie betts is on a lot at Carlton but he could be that forward crumber of class we have lacked for 10 years. Another mid option to compliment the toughness of danger Thompson and Vince would be someone of the Brent Stanton mould but maybe a little quicker and outside such as Aaron davey. As suggested, our salary cap situation is only going to get worse and with the experience we have lost it's a perfect time to chase the big guys with big dollars.

Cant compare Angus and Jaensch IMO.

Griffen could be a good chance, Knights and a draft pick for him?

Edwards, McLeod and Goodwin were on the Vetrens list (at least 2 of these) so only half of their contracts go to the salary cap. Dont know if there is any other players the Crows have got who would be eligable to move onto the Vetrens list to free up some money.

All I'm saying is that in time, Jaensch could be every bit as good as Monfies. Matty is 20 but he's in his first year of AFL footy so will take some time. In 2-3 years he could be a very, very good player.
