Ordinary, are players in country/state leagues, something you can't even claim. I guess you never did make an error on an AFL field....

You are our very own Mike Sheehan, quite witty and write well, but deep down no one respects you because you never played. Hirdy gives this away regularly on the couch...

A good ordinary player is not a sledge. He's a good AFL footballer. You have to have something going for you to last as long as he has but come on, a champion? I don't think so. Thinking back to his glory days and some of his team mates I can think back to this...

Mark Ruccuito dominating our younger bodies at Cat Park
McLeod running rings around us at Football Park on more than one occasion
Ben Hart repelling our attacks again and again

but I can't remember Goody taking us apart. Maybe racking up the stats but he just doesn't seem to stick in the memory like the players I mentioned. It's like me saying that Peter Riccardi is a champion. To a Cat supporter he is but to you guys Ricca might be just another 'Good ordinary player'.

If someone wrote that I wouldn't get steamed up, after all he is not Budda Hocking or Gary Ablett. The Crows have had champions and I reckon Goody comes up a bit short in that area. But that's just this writer's opinion.

You fellas spend a bit too much time sitting amongst your own supporters and in forums where there aren't enough opposition supporters and reading the Crowsitiser for your own good. ;)

regards,

REB

Not steamed up at all. totally disagree with you evalluation though.
To me, the most important key indiacators when evalluating a players career are:

in no particualr order:

brownlow medals
All Australian selections
Club B & F's
Premierships

Well, he has 5 All Australian selections and 3 x club best and fairests and 2 x premierships. He would have to be pushing towards if not in the "champion category" for sure.

Tyson Edwards was a good AFL player.

A decorated career for sure. Rate his B&Fs but when Roo is on the selection committee for the AA then that's a big asterix IMO. A couple of times he deserved it but the last one in particular was a joke. As for the Flags, that is a team achievement. Is Cameron Mooney a better player than Goody?
