Get some hawk on your fork...port v hawthorn

2:40pm saturday arvo

Thomas out unfortunately, hes prob my favourite player these days. Decision making not the best but effort and attack on the ball unbelievable and exactly what this side needs.

Id love to predict a win for the Power and if we come with the intensity from last week we're a chance but logic says we would be underdogs. For all our intensity and attack on the ball last week we still made a heap of skill errors and if it werent for the Crows having the yips in fornt of goals we coulda gone down. So to win this game we need the hawks slightly off game and be really switched on ourselves. My biased and non logical tip is Port 1-10. Carn the Pooooweeeer. And dont forget Tredders lap of honour!

WOW...2 in a row. Players look to be playing more from the heart than the roboticness theyve been playing with (if that makes sense). How was the marking power of the side today. Defintely think westoff, shulz AND dan Stewart in the forward lines is the way to go. Win the clearence and kick it long to a tall, take a mark, kick a goal.....Its a simple game in some respects.

Great win by the Power. No great surprise as Port have had a great record against Hawthorn over many years. Carlisle & Chaplin seem to have the measure of Roughead & Franklin. Considering the amount of injuries Port have, it's really encouraging for the next few years. Can see them winning 3 out of the last 4 games which will leave them agonisingly short of the finals which will be sooooo frustrating after a losing streak of 9.

That's it, I'm not watching another match this year.

Missed yesterday's game coz I was at Leichhardt for Tigers v Sharkies.

Might be time to show some faith with Jay Schulz up forward.

Hope a possibly 'respectable' 9-10 wins and 10th-11th finish wins doesn't mask what has been a disastrous year...

To be honest i think your right at the moment. Seeing him y'day get hit in the jaw and come back and have an influence was another step in his development and may see him start to take that next step.

Was interesting to see a few players with a harder edge yesterday. Pearce getting hit and coming back from it showed some heart. Krakouer took on some tackles rather than side stepping around them showed something new. Dan Stewart looked like he knackered his shoulder twice and still managed to ruck and take some strong pack marks. I know its very very early days but the side looks like playing the hard, passion fueled game most Port supporters have been looking for. Winning contested possession, particularly out the middle has been really strong the last 2 weeks. Good signs for Matty Primus.

To make it even worse, I really got into the Tigers spirit by wearing my 1986 Glenelg 'SportsLover' cartoon premiership t-shirt with Studley and Super, which I bought at Bondi markets for ten bucks.

Wouldn't you know it, I bumped into a bloke wearing a Power/Magpies cap at my local shops.

Of course he bagged me out.

Port supporters can be so rude!
