Great to see him having the season he's having.

Would like to know though, why was he not drafted in the main draft back in 2000? From memory he was an All Australian under 18, played league footy for North that year and was slated to be a first or second round pick.
Was it an attitude/behavioural thing why he wasn't drafted or did his stock just drop for other reasons?

Unsure what put clubs off at that draft, I went to the same school as him in Pirie, they has the local TV station there during that draft he missed out on, was taken in the rookie draft, has taken time to develop but most big men do, hope to see lots more good footy from him.

Ruckman take a long time to develop but even allowing for that Jamar's development has been ridiculously slow. He was just about on last chance status before he started stringing together some decent games at the back end of the 2008 season.

Jamar's development would not have been helped as his earlier years were under Daniher who used to ruck Jeff White almost to the exclusion of all others.

Love the Russian though!

He's had a great year and has improved out of sight. He's close to All Australian IMO.

His game against Collingwood in Round 12 was one of the most dominant displays by a ruckman I've seen.

I believe he had 33 of the 37 hit outs Melbourne had.
He pushed forward for a goal late in the game that helped toward the draw.

Aside from J-Pod and Bar-brown-low, I would say Jamar is the "feel-good" story of 2010.

Really am enjoying watching him do well.
