The Crows will be looking at building on their win against Richmond in Round 7, but this game against North Melbourne on Saturday night at Etihad will be a tough battle.

Crows are coming off a big win, albeit over Richmond. North Melbourne are coming off a hammering to Collingwood.

I know records haven't counted for much this year but North Melbourne have a poor record over Adelaide, not beating the Crows since round 1 2004.

North Melbourne's form hasn't been that great. They've won 3 games, but two of those are against Hawthorn and West Coast, and have been smashed when playing top flight teams. Adelaide have been on the improve the past couple of weeks. A good first half against the Western Bulldogs, a good first three quarters against Port and a strong second half against Richmond.

I actually think Adelaide are a strong chance of winning on Saturday night. Tippett and Porplyzia are regaining their goal kicking, and will do their bit to put up a competitive score. If the Crows selectors finally bite the bullet and drop Burton, that will add to the Crows goal kicking ability. The key will be our defence. Johncock's been the backbone of their defence since his return from injury, and his injury is a big blow down there. The Crows will need the likes of Rutten and Bock to lift their games to cover Johncock. If they can do that, I reckon the Crows will win by 24 points.

Also, considering North Melbourne constantly get poor crowds to its games, and with the strong travelling support of the Crows, could Crows supporters outnumber North Melbourne supporters Saturday night? I'm thinking it could be 50/50, but the noise of Crows supporters in Melbourne may make it sound like there are more Crows supporters than North Melbourne supporters.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Rutten was great last night, Reiwoldt had no chance. Trucks form has been good this year!

Bock was very queit IMO we need his run off half back for sure.

I didn't see the game FS but was Bock really that quiet ?? Stats in the paper this morning say he had 20 possessions at 100% effectiveness ?? I know stats can tell lies but that sounds like an OK game to me ??
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Seemed to find some urgency in the 2nd half (like many of his teammates), but I thought he was very quiet in the 1st half.

I didn't really feel like he had much impact on the game at all, compared to the efforts of Johncock, Rutten anyway. By impact I mean creating play from half back, not sure how he stacked up against his direct opponent.

I agree mate, even his 2nd half wasn't anything outstanding, but I thought it was certainly an improvement from the first ... Quite a few of these blokes will probably take a bit of time to build some form up, so his last hour was encouraging I guess.

Im a Bernie Vince fan, but his confidence levels appear to be at an all-time low.

Bock was just ok IMO, still looks well below his best.

In: Dangerfield
Out: Burton

If Johncock is injured, bring Walker in too.

Dangerfield will be the only in this week you would think. Crows by 28 points.

I agree with LA being out. Not much in the way of experience (even though his all of 21?), especially when there centre line has an average age of 19.

The club just posted this update of facebook:

Johncock, McLeod, Dangerfield and Knights are on the training track at today's closed session, so it will be interesting to see the team later today.

Knights is a big surprise. Here's hoping all 4 can get up for this weeks game.

About time. :partyman:
The selection committee need to stick with Walker for the rest of the year and play him out of full forward. will be a great test for him this week with Scott Thompson on him. The other defender problem with the Roos is - will they play Firritto in the middle still or down back on Kurt?
