Rd 6 review: 99% of people picked the Cats as their 10 and after 5 minutes of play had put their feet up knowing that their 10 points were safe. Freo and Port on the other hand were a different story, both trailing at half time. Gossipgirl and Constance both did well with 36 out of 39, with Hackham_Hawk_3 following close by with 35. Overloaded has kept his lead on MT79 at 5 with Constance making ground and Nuggety keeping the distance within reach. I'm staying clear of missusgadj thankfully after she (and many others) ruefully picked Hawthorn with their early picks.
Highest pick: Geelong 9.7
Lowest score: whufc 16
To those that put their tips in late - well done!
Rd 7 preview: Well after a big rivalry round, things get a tad easier...er, not. Melbourne (3-3) play Western Bulldogs (3-3) at the MCG on Friday night. We'll soon see if Melbourne are the real deal, and whether the Bulldogs are actually top 4 material (time is running out). On Saturday, Essendon (2-4) play Port (4-2) at Etihad in another must win game for the Bombers. West Coast (1-5) play Hawthorn (1-5) in what looms as a season defining game at Subi on Saturday afternoon. Collingwood (5-1) take on North Melbourne (3-3) at the MCG on Saturday night. On Sunday Geelong (4-2) fresh off a percentage boosting win against the Tiges play a VERY in form and top of the table Sydney (5-1) at Skilled Stadium. In a clash that no one wants to witness, the Crows (0-6) play the hapless Tigers (0-6) at AAMI in a Sunday twilight game. I hear that Port fans are queuing up, spoons in hand for Adelaide supporters. Of course, if the Crows lose, they'll pass them to the Tigers players and staff (no Tigers supporters will show up surely?). On Monday night (is this a test for the AFL for next year??), the best defensive team in the comp by a street, St Kilda (5-1) play Carlton (3-3) at Etihad. Stuffed if I know who will be the 10 this week!!! Best of luck everyone.
