WB - 21 pts (WB just look to be playing better football at the minute)
Melb - 12 pts (dunno why, there just seems to be a little bit about Melbourne)
Port - 5 pts (Showdowns are always close)
Hawks - 22pts (In a game that will be worth watching, but the hawks should have enough ability to get across the line)
Sydney - 16 pts (good side sydney and they play that ground well, and bris will struggle without a fit brown)
Geelong - A fair bit
Collingwood - 30 pts (Will be too good for carlton despite there impressive form)
Fremantle - 36pts (Freo are playing good football, and West Coast....are not)

I reckon the West Coast Eagles will provide the upset of the round by beating Fremantle.

Boyd named as an emergency! Ouchies. He better play.

On the other hand, Moles, Martin, Rockliff, Peterson and Warnock are out which will harm certain supercoach sides!

Pretty good call I reckon there Stanley. The surprise could be West Coast who have finally recalled Lynch who might straighten them up a bit. Freo were a bit wobbly at times against Richmond last week, perhaps they might be due to 'do a Freo'.

As for Melbourne, their midfield has been energized by McDonald returning to top form, Maloney gunning it and Mark Jamar finally arriving as an AFL player. They've discovered a couple of decent defenders in Warnock and Frawley and they have Colin Sylvia and Brad Green up front leading the way. I was thinking of backing the Roos until I read about this structure and it seems a sound one.

regards,

REB

I'm going to tip and back the draw in the Hawks Essendon game. Both teams have differing strengths, and differing weaknesses. I can't split them besides someone to negate Franklin and Roughy.

I'm assuming Renouf will ruck (which he was supposed to last week!) which will give the Hawks an advantage at clearances, however that might be negated by Essendon's quicker midfield.

Overall I can't really split them.

If I was to pick a winner, it would be Hawthorn but only by the score that Franklin and Roughy kick and no more.

Looks like Ablett is out due to hamstring tightness.

Glad I held off on bringing him into my DT.

Oh no!

Cue the mad scramble by thousands to adjust their sides.

As much as the Crows are the surprise non performers this season so far, the Hawks poor form is almost equally as surprising.

RE the Showdown, good result from my perspective as a Port supporter, however given that they were outplayed for 3 quarters, it wasn't overly convincing. Still a 4/2 win-loss result is a good result at this stage of the season.

The hawks are terrible at the moment. Even last night when in my opinion they have some help from the umpires, still were puss. Young had 2 goals both from 50's, and then the deliberate point in the goal square, my god is that possibly the worst fricken rule ever to be invented and then the umpire who gave it was a moron so I guess it was coming in the end.

Anyway poor old Hawthorne may have some more problems, unfortunately there wasnt much in Hodges hit on Welsh but Brown just decided to ram into him which unfortunately for both with probably get looked at.
Although the bombers wont have Welsh next week after kneeing someone in the crowns.
