NABasketball is a funny creature indeed. In late January we pine for it to begin. In late February we are once again reminded that it has little resemblence to the great game of Football so we pine for it to end.
Look for cooky rules, fresh faces, stupid nine pointers and assistant coaches looking important all of a sudden. For me NABasketball is all about casting an eye over the young players to see who is going to get a gig in the REBCats this season.

REB

Hopefully the Hawks win the NAB cup. The angry midget will then think they are back and then they can fall in a hole just like they did last season. With a ruck division like theirs, how can they go wrong?

REB

Half time:
WCE 0. 8. 5. 53
Essendon 0. 9. 3. 57
Pretty handy 2nd qtr from Naitanui (and lots of love from the commentators).
Howler of a mistake by a goal umpire near half time when the ball clearly hit the post (between his legs!)
Field umpire apparently saw the replay and overruled the decision.

It was nice to watch some football again after a summer of cricket.
The match was interesting and unless you were really keen on watching some prospective Super Coach or Dream Team players strut there stuff the only thing the game would have told you is that Essendon's forward line is going to need some work. Although Neagle and Hurley were not down there it was I guess still a little hard to tell. Anyway Mark Williams will probably be better for the run in new colours as was Brad Daziell.
Still the Eagles midfield looks a bit better this year. Kerr, Priddis, Selwood, Daziell, Masten and Ebert looks to be a decent combination.
Still only very early.

Cameron Hitchcock looks good for Port. Looked up the PAFC website to see where he was from and see he is on the rookie list and from Glenelg. Did he play a lot of league last year?

He switched between Glenelg's under 18's and Reserves, kicked about 70/80 goals all up i think.

Cheers Thiele and GWW. Should make an impact with the Glenelg league side this year on that performance.
