What does Richmond fans have to look forward to next season?
Not really sure at the moment, however they should be excited about the form of Vickery towards the end of last season. But I guess Im throwing the question out there, what have they got to work with next season?
Delido, Tambling, Newman just for starters, but I guess it does get a bit thin. Peoples thoughts?

For starters this is what is leaving Richmond:
Joel Bowden (ret.)
Kane Johnson (ret.)
Nathan Brown
Mark Coughlan
Jay Schulz (trd.)
Andrew Raines (trd.)

as sad as it is to say i think they should just try not to win the spoon in richos last year.

i believe the coach will have them competetive but if thats guna be enough who knows?

It doesnt look good for the tigers tho. but really tiger fans must be use to it by now! although they always have a huge following at games i go to i always go to the round1 clash in melb. and the tiger faithful are always full of hope but it falls away very quickly.

i'll throw sydney in as a maybe not alot of depth a couple of injurys and they are in real trouble!

Looking forward to see Cotchin, Vickery, Rance and Post with full pre-seasons under their belts, will definitely be better for it. Cotch is a star in the making and I hope he can get his body right because he can genuinely be one of the best players in the competition in the next few years.

I have been a massive critic of Tambling's in the past, simply because of his lack of confidence in his own ability. He can clearly play the game, he showed that last year, and hopefully he feels like he belongs a bit more now and will come out of his shell.

McGuane, Thursfield and Moore haven't been too bad for us in the back half, and combined with Newman, Polo, Edwards, Tambling and Rance, make a solid back six-combination if they all stay fit.

Having Richo back will be a plus, and he'll do his fair share, bu I'm not expecting any miracles. Seeing the younger guys get better, and seeing some of the guys who have been around a few years (Deledio, Jackson, Foley) step up and show some leadership now that Bowden, Brown, Tuck, Coughlan, Johnson etc have gone will be what I'm looking for 2010. No point getting the hopes up, did that last year.

My team for Round 1 (if all fit):

F: Vickery, Riewoldt, Nahas
HF: Cotchin, Richardson, Collins
C: Tambling, Deledio, Cousins
HB: Newman, Moore, Rance
B: Edwards, Thursfield, McGuane

R: Pattison, Foley, Jackson
Int: Graham, Thomson, Morton, Post

yeah but looking at that side on paper pag i cant see the other 15 coach's having sleepness nights the week before playing richmond.

Same. I cant see Richmond or Melbourne possibly finishing ahead of Port, and I doubt Fremantle will.

I think it will be another long year for Richmond, but I think they will show signs of improvement.

Fremantle for mine will finish above Port! (they're both terrible).

I think sides that will be fighting for positions in the bottom half of the draw are Richmond, Melbourne, North Melbourne, Port, Freo, Sydney. Thats the bottom 6 for mine.

With the kangas to finish bottom (so i get my carton from dutchy )

I think Freo can finish above Port. They turned out the old duds at the end of 2008 and with an already young squad they got smashed by injuries as well. They managed to develop Chris Tarrant into a very good key defender and also have the Pav and Lurch in the ruck. If they have a half decent run with injuries they could be a more than handy side.

Port won't finish last but should get home ahead of the Demons and the Tiggers who are just horrible and will still be rebuilding by the time South Adelaide win their next flag.

No new players in a team that finished 15th. Not promising. The "solid back six combination" are manful battlers, but they lack class and make far too many mistakes.

I would run Tambling off half back McLeod-style (get the ball to him or Newman to kick out of defence), leaving Cousins, Cotchin, Foley and Deledio as a decent midfield rotation with helicopter kick specialist Jackson as tagger.
