Melbourne Demons great Jim Stynes' has revealed on social networking site Twitter that he is now battling a brain tumour.

The 43-year-old revealed in June that he was battling cancer and stepped aside from his post as president of the club.

Stynes is remaining positive, telling an online audience that he would know the outcome of tests soon.

"Small bump on recover, little tumour on brain, will know soon,'' Stynes wrote on Twitter.

"Good news PETscan all clean on rest body. great support everyone xox''.

Stynes has been using Twitter to update his supporters on his progress since revealing his health battle earlier this year.

In September he underwent a second round of surgery after scans revealed after two new tumours.

an absolutely champion bloke. the last man on earth that deserves the health issues he's had lately. have got to meet the man a few times, as my cousin used to work closely with him and his charity.

heart of pure gold.

best wishes to the great man.
