I take my hat off to the team for responding so well to the 2008 GF loss. This year, I noticed less empahsis on revolutionising football, scoring 25 goals per game and winning every game to get the minor premiership.

What I noticed instead was a club following the more traditional model for premiership success:

- not busting your gut to necessarially win every single game but doing enough to get the double chance
- resting players as required
- peaking in September rather than August
- less goals (355 less points over the 22 minor round games v 2008, almost 3 goals less per game)
- more traditional defence, more grind (hey, they slowed the game up with the best of them at times yesterday)

Result = premiership. Well played Geelong =D>

Agreed

An upgrade on the defensive side without losing what had been so great on the attacking side, making for a more formidable outfit in finals I reckon

Thanks for beating the fairy scum Geelong, did the whole of Australia a favour.

In the last quarter, Geelong were dangerous and St Kilda turned to butter.

U try driving home from Melbourne after an hour's sleep and still seeing double up until 4pm yesterday. That was hell. Thank god they had a replay of the call on the radio, which was good to listen to. It kept me awake anyway.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.
