Troy Chaplin, Port Adelaide, has been charged with a Level Two striking offence against Andrew Swallow, North Melbourne, during the second quarter of the Round 22 match between Port Adelaide and North Melbourne, played at AAMI Stadium on Saturday August 29, 2009.

In summary, his previous poor record means that his sanction will remain at one game, even with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He also has 95.31 points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 245.31 points and a two-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 183.98 points and a one-match sanction.

Kane Cornes, Port Adelaide, has been charged with a first offence for abusive language towards an umpire (Michael Avon) after the final siren of the Round 22 match between Port Adelaide and North Melbourne, played at AAMI Stadium on Saturday August 29, 2009.

In summary, he can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.

The match day report laid against Port Adelaide’s Robbie Gray for striking North Melbourne’s Scott Thompson during the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The impact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
