Have to be

I listened to James Brayshaw on 5AA tonight and thought it was poor form to name the final four. No wonder they are a second rate club

JB only named a final 3.

Richmond named a final 4. RIchardson, Hinkley, Hardwick and Rawlings.

For me i think Hardwick. Will be happy with Hinkley or Rawlings. I think Rawlings has done pretty well so far and im impressed with his attitude.

I may be wrong but thought he named Longmire, Scott, Crocker and Hardwicke but said they didn't interview Longmire because he was in Sydeny, but I was getting out of the car when it got to this stage and didn't care anyway.

Agree about Scott leaving Collingwood - why hang around without a clear career path

There's also talk in Melbourne that Hardwick will head to Port and form part of a succession plan, ala Malthouse and Buckley at Collingwood.

Who really knows how these things turn out, I guess we'll all find out soon enough.

A dead man walking
A masochist
A supreme optimist
Someone who needs some chook poo for his garden
Being groomed to take over a real club
Choco looking for a payrise
Sheedy seeking adulation
Someone who likes being spat on
Taking September holidays for the next three years
Sick of trying to hang the skyhooks but wants an even greater challenge
Not of this world and walks around with an anal probe and seeks willing test subjects
A 16 year 'actor' from Neighbours

Out of the four left, I'd be happiest with Hardwick.

No great surprise that he got that job.

He seems to be to good a candidate to go without a top coaching job.

Good luck to him. I hope he makes a good crack at it.

Lets hope it works out for him, I still reckon that he would have been a good fit at the Roos but has bravely taken on what is arguably one of the toughest jobs in the Afl.

Hardwick is a very good man, something Richmond have needed for a long time. He won't be interested in self promotion and talking crap in the media, he will just get the job done. Gee, Richmond with a real coach ... they may even turn into a half decent team.

As a Hawks supporter, it has amazed me nobody has snapped up Hardwick as senior coach long before this. He will be huge loss to the Hawks.

Although I rated Hardwick as footballer and leader due to his tough approach, you cant understate the Job ahead of him. Remember he is a first year coach heading into a club that has been struggling for a while in which many have pointed to a culture problem. Hence he has the job ahead of him, I would doubt there would be instant improvement, but I do believe in the long term with him there they have a good chance to turn things around. Good Luck to him and Richmond.

Big job ahead I wish him well but he faces -

Bugger all quality kids?
Depends how u define bugger all i guess. But these are the kids that will be 23 or under come the end of this year.

Pattison
Raines
Thursfield
Jackson
polo
Thomson
Tambling
Hughes
Morton
McGuane
White
Graham
Deledio
Oakley - Nicholls
Hislop
Connors
Edwards
Riewoldt
Collins
Putt
Rance
Post
Cotchin
Vickery

Of those 24 players mentioned above, only Dean Putt has not played league football. Thats a positive as all have tasted senior football.

Of those quality kids, i would say there are a fair few quality kids.

Vickery (WCE have nick nat, we have vick vat. this bloke will be better tho)
Cotchin (without a preseason yet, and this bloke just oozes class)
Reiwoldt (not as good as his cousin, but along with Morton, will be really good 2nd/3rd forwards)
Deledio (already a BnF winner)
Graham (up and coming ruckman, good partner to vickery in the future)
White (very talented, hard worker)
McGuane (see thursfield)
Morton (could be a superstar if he can learn to kick over the mark, best snap in the business)
Tambling (possible BnF this year after being dropped mid year)
Jackson (has got some good scalps already)
Thursfield (done pretty well as a key defender)
Raines (quality if he can get back on the field)

Plus there is Rance and Post who have a great attitude by the looks and you need some hard nuts in your side. I am excited by the future....

Terribly aging, i think that would be a bit over the top! We have a 6 people over 30 (johnson gone, bowden gone, simmounds will go). So next year we will have 3 (brown and cousins) and richo if he stays.

I would be happier with richmonds list then the kangas thats for sure
