Reported on radio in the past 2 days that Surjan wants out and would like to return to Perth. Interesting if true but considering the other rumours that have been floating around in the past couple of weeks it is hard to believe anything without solid facts.
Anyone heard anything in Adelaide?

Have heard that Surjan going back to WA could be part of a massive trade merry go round that will see Sandilands end up at either Hawthorn or Carlton.

Just a mate of mine who isn't involved in any AFL clubs but has a serious knack of always been around the money said that Harvey's outburst in the media about Sandilands was due to an interest been shown by these two clubs.

I thought the same, with Hampson and Kreuzer, Carlton have no need at all to get involved with trade negotiations for a ruckman.
If Port was involved with any Surjan deal with Hawthron also involved, its difficult to know who they'd be after, maybe Mitch Thorpe.

Don't forget Carlton also picked up Robert Warnock early in the trades last year so you'd think a ruckman isn't high on their list... But after his good year this year I think losing Surjan would be a huge loss for Port.

Surjan may go. Will it be in a trade for someone like Byron Schammer. Yes he may have just signed a new contract earlier this year but it isnt out of the question. Or even a Shannon Hurn.
Carlton will not be after Sandilands. Cloke, Hampson, Kruzer, Warnock, Jacobs. They have a good ruck squad to work with for the next 5-10 years.
Hawthorn however could definitely give it a real shake if the right offer went freo's way.
IMO tho, PP shouldnt trade Surjan unless he wants out, he has had a pretty solid year. One of only 4 or 5 that can say that.

Since we're all talking hypotheticals, IF Surjan were able to return home via trade, you'd think Beau Waters could be like-for-like.

Surjan to Freo, Sandilands to Hawthorn, Roughhead to Power ????

Maybe if picks were involved too. I don't think Freo would see Surjan for Sandilands would be a fair swap.

Perhaps the Power could give Freo Surjan, and a couple of other minor players, for Sandilands.
They are going to need another ruckman soon...

Quantity doesn't always cut it in trades, its quality clubs are after.

sandilands wont go IMO.
however IF, and thats a big IF, sandilands wants out (he still has next year to run on his contract) i would not be surpised if Freo trade him this year so they get something for him. Otherwise it could be Sandilands to the GC for free as there uncontracted player to the GC. They could look to the future, by getting a couple more first round draft picks off a club instead of holding onto sandilands for an extra year.

What happens if Sandilands has told them he doesn't want to be part of their team and doesn't see a future at Fremantle.

I didn't seriously think Freo would part with Sandilands for a few Power players - I doubt they'd trade him for the entire Power team...
As whufc said, the only way they'd trade him is if he wanted out and couldn't be persuaded to stay.
