Hope so.

It'd mean more mediocrity from them...

Ahem, I don't think he's applied for the job in a formal sense ... just a bit of chest beating to say Leigh Matthews and I are coaching legends, ring us up to tell us how great we are and then we might think about coaching your pissant club.

Surely If Richmond were serious about turning the corner they would go to an untried, just retired Collingwood Champ and offerer him a thre year deal with a two year option after the second year. Buckley will be an awesome coach and Richmond need him big time. Either that or pinch an assistant who is currently at Geelong. Geelong assistant coaches have had the best apprenicship in AFL coaching as things stand today. St. Kilda did a simular in recruiting Lyon from Sydney..........hasn't worked out to bad for them! Sheedy back at Richmond would be good for headlines.........and probably worth 3000 or so new members. Unfortunatly his time is gone now though. But Richmond do have a history of building their members up only to dash their hopes with rubbish football so................BRING ON THE KEV. 8-}

Like the concept of Buckley as coach. I really like what he says as special commentator on Friday nights. He's both a leader, role model and inspiration.

Would surely get something out of those heartless bastards at Punt Road.

He looks the obvious choice to me.............and most others to from what i keep reading. But what is obvious to the majority is not always so obvious the the board of the RFC. TERRY WALLACE.......... exibit A :roll:

Unforunately for Richmond supporters, their club still believes in gimicks to tease their members rather than clever recruitment and contemporary game plans. I could just see them appointing Sheedy, it would be so Richmond.

Sheedy's had it as a coach. The past 5 flags have been won by clubs being coached by people in their initial coaching appointments. It's the future, new ideas are what clubs need to gain an edge.

If I were Richmond, I'd be pushing like hell to get Buckley.

I wouldn't even hire Buckley without him being an assistant coach first. I don't think Buckley would be as good of a coach as people think he would be. Sheeds as a coach would be a great idea or look at the current crop of assistant coaches that are floating around the in system first. Take a punt on them before Buckley.

Handy pick up and point proven................That's obviously why they are attacking a little more....and better. Riewoldt and Kozzie in form and fit probably help a bit to.

Yep, apparently March does not want him there and publicly said it. I would suggest Buckley might be at the top of there list then they could do well to also look at Jade Rawlings, who is doing a goo job with playing the younger types.
