Where is Drew Petrie more suited??

Just want to see what people think about the position(s) Drew Petrie is more suited.
IMO I think he would be suited as a free half forward flanker, where he can move aroung the oval and set up play from the wing and also go forward and take a strong mark and kick goals. Obviously this would only work if ruckmen were fit and he wasnt having to ruck

Personally I always think in this day and age of matchups, he'll always be slung from one end of the park to another such is his versatility ... I watched him pretty closely last night and thought he was running at about %60.

Most players will move according to team structure, unfortunately for him with his KPP size it means he'll move quite a bit.

I reckon they'll have him play the CHB role and encourage him to rebound forward with the ball. He played a fair bit around CHB and center wing last night. With Hale, Goldstein, Watt and McIntosh I doubt Petrie will have to do much rucking over the course of the year.

play him on the ball...and rest him up forward...moves well for a big guy...can take a grab and kick goals

thats a great article. hopefully the roos can work themselves into some good form and get a good start and go from there. Melbourne first up so if they dont win that they're in for a long year.

Bit tough saying McMahon went backwards, agreed Dutchy?

It was really on his first full season playing in a side that was middle of the road, therefore experiencing some pressure as a member of the back 6. Perhaps playing on opponents who were a little tall for him at times too.

I rate him as a bit of a hard nut and if there was ever talk of him returning to Adelaide ( as you always hear about with kids being drafted interstate ) it would get both Port and Adelaide excited IMO.

McMahon had some 2nd year blues after having a great 2007 only played 13 games last year, the article was right he is exactly the type of player we need to take the next step, to improve in 2009

yeah they said since Pratts been out the Roos most experienced backman was Gibson with 46 games.
