What is everyones thoughts on him? what sort of impact will he have around the footy club and on the field?

I reckon he will do alot better than his previous two seasons, although last season wasn't bad, he still has a lot of improvement.

With him handing down the captaincy, this should take a lot of pressure off of him and result in some good performances!

One thing we know is that he will return to number 16

Dannyl Pearce will move to the vacated number 6

The new captain will take number 1. To avoid this guernsey shuffling next time, the club will retire the new captain's old number until the captain either retires or needs to take it up again.

Port remain the only club sticking to the tradition of the captain wearing number 1.

Tredders is a bonus these days.

A marking option capable of kicking 30-40 goals for the season.

We shouldn't expect anymore from him...

sorry hof :(
In my opinion will play half a dozen, get injured and realise he is no longer good enough for AFL.
Was an absolute gun 3/4 years back, but can no longer run or jump in my opinion not good enough

true. but richmond captains wear the number 17,and i wouldnt be surprised if it becomes a tradition for collingwood captains to have the #5 from now on

You'd be wearing #5 TBB - great photo of a captains challenge where nobody else would dare do it

I reckon Tredders surprises many pundits and has a solid-good start to the year, then the year, age, injury might catch up with him a bit but still a focal point requiring a quality defender, and a 38 goal haul for the season

Hopefully he'll go and see an audiologist so he can hear the crowd when he kicks a goal

I thought he played really great against Sydney. Good movement, good hands, was jumping.

Good signs!

I too think he will have a much improved year. Last year Westhoff dried up and the opposition coaches were not too worried about him therefore Tredrea was getting the best or second best defender ( Motlop the other ) so for mine, for Tredders to have a big year Westhoff must too.

Westhoff plays closer to goal and is more of a scoring threat so will gain more attention if he starts well and this will give Tredders the third or fourth defender.

Im looking at 40+ goals for Tredders and many more marks than last year.

leave him at full forward and we could get another 2 - 3 seasons out of him, 40+ goals per year............

Great to see Tredders back in form, kicked 6 today against the Hawks and 6 against the Demons, that just shows the big fella still has it in him.

Port are a better side to watch, when Tredrea is on song.

Yes he is going well - I'm surprised - I thought he was gone last year.
It is good that they are using him to do what he can still do, but not expecting him to carry the whole team as they used to.
It will prolong his career.

What a star Tredrea has been in 2009. Another big goal haul, game saving effort in defence and general domination.

What a player.

Agreed fantastic footballer, inspirational leader, stood up in a big way when required yesterday.
Almost back to his 2004 form.
