upgraded to the main list today

when this lad finds his feet in the AFL he will tear it apart with his pace and ball carrying ablility

a ball getter, great accurate kick on the run and very good evasive skills

good head on his shoulders

will be groomed to take over from McLeod imo

well done Jarad

A good decision to put him on the rookie list last year as many were scared because of his shoulders but his elevation has shown that it was a risk worth taking last year and i think he will repay the faith shown in him. He looks to be a capable replacement for a Mcleod/Johncock role.

How the heck he survived to the second round of the rookie draft is beyond me. The AFL world will be shocked at how good he is. He is an absolute gem, already one of my favourite players.

Great overhead mark, not afraid to go get his own footy, quick as anything and above all he's a playmaker. Can't wait for next season.

Exactly, he has all the attributes. For a small guy with a fair history of injuries he is just so courageous, that's one of the main things I love about him. Will play a LOT of AFL in 2009.

You could start that thread by asking how many other people know someone who has their name spelt Myke and not Mike. :)

Ahaha, well Cook is an interesting one. Seems to get his name thrown up a few times in interviews with Reid and Craigy so whatever he's doing, he is on their radar. Could be the club's obsession with blonde locks showing through again though. :p

Petrenko will be a star. A fantastic bloke and he has worked as hard as any other kid who has been drafted before. Wat he has gone through to get to the AFL ranks i will find it very unlikely he will let it slip. Off field discresions will definitely not be mentioned with Jared Petrenko, he will be a one club player, or at the very least a one state player. He will be playing this year for the crows a fair bit, and at the end of the year, i would not be suprised if he overtakes johncock or allows johncock to be released into the midfield/forward line. Petrenko to dominate.

Good post!

And speaking of Cook, seems they want to play him in defence, no idea why given he is a FORWARD/wingman. Typical Crows turning everyone into defensive minded players.

I think that is what Neil Craig does with so many players. I think he finds their defensive game is better in the midfield or up forward if they have played in the back half. I am sure it has some merit but not everyone needs to play down back to have a defensive side to their game.

the kid is enjoyable to watch. he has a decent crack at it and shows plenty of class for a youngster... could be the next big thing at the crows i think, a game breaker in the making maybe...
