What if Collingwood finishes 4th?

Will Geelong be very confident if they come across the Pies in the first week of the finals, given what happened last time they played? I think this would be the worst scenario for the Cats.

I think we'll see the return of Didak and Shaw in the early weeks of the finals too.

I'd rather play them when we have the double chance as opposed to Prelim like last year when I almost had a coronary.

They have got some form back Collingwood but that match earlier this year was surely an abberation.

They've actually being playing better since the lads were suspended. The rest of the team seem to be lifting to cover them.

I think Collingwood are a good, but not outstanding, side. For some reason however they match up very well on the Cats. So I think playing them in week 1 is better than the prelim final, as Wedgie says.

Under the current final 8 system no team outside the top 4 has even made the GF, let alone won it (in 8 seasons so far). So for the Roos, Pies and Crows; missing the top 4 realistically means the end of 2008 as history says teams 5-8 are just making up the finals numbers.

Won't happen. Collingwood need the Roos to lose to the Power this week.

At the moment you aren't even the side you were on the last Saturday in September let alone where you've been for most of this decade. We'll clean up the Pies in the finals. Just like last year.

Clean up?
Define the context of your use of that term.

Yes, Geelong will be very confident.

Interesting topic, what if collingwood finishes 4th - well Im pretty sure this has been said plenty of times. They play Geelong. You cant take anything for granted in a final, but taking into account how well geelong are going its a good chance they would lose. Then get a home final in the semi's maybe win that and then play in a prelim, probably at the MCG.

Booney, I'll give REB his due - he's never been afearing of posting about Geelong. I wouldn't say he's a bandwaggoner.

I'd agree with dogwatcher here, cant call REB a bandwagoner or a woodwork supporter. I know there are plenty of them but REB is defintity not one of them.

it would be an interesting game to watch and see what happens. I don't think the pies will play didak or shaw though.

as a collingwood man, i'd love to finish 4th. granted, we would probably lose to the catters, but then we get a home final against a bottom of the 8 team, and don't meet geelong till the GF if we make it. although, having said that, getting past what is most likely going to be the hawks wouldnt be that much easier than playing geelong in a prelim.

I think it would be their worst nightmare, the Pies seem to be the only side that matches up well against the Catters, against most other sides in the 8, the Pies will struggle though.

Wouldn't our worst nightmare be meeting them in a knockout final and not one when we have the double chance?
I honestly can't understand some people's logic. :?

The only nightmare would be the poor bastards that have to play them when they have just come of a loss!
The last time Geelong lost this season they went into crazy mode and started destroying most teams.
