Best combined AFL team..............

This is a doozy, probably has been done before but I am going to bring it up again. Name the best side since the inception of the AFL in 1990, do not base it on their previous acheivements, just since 1990 (Ie no dipper,tuck ect)......

Here is my initial side and also explain any 'surprise' inclusions......

F- Dunstall, Lockett, Ablett Snr
HF- Akermanis, Carey, Ricciuto
C- Matera, Williams, Hird
HB- McLeod, Jakovic, Wanganeen
B- Silvagni, Michael, Roos
R- Cox, Voss, Buckley

Int- Harvey, Salmon, Judd, Goodes

Coach- Leigh Matthews

Michael- Silvagni is in the team of the century, but has Michael had 13 ever kicked on him??
Salmon- Quality in ruck and would also go forward and kick big bags.

My bad, 4th player in ruck removed,taken cousins out and put harvey in.He was actually on my team that I wrote down but for some reason I did not post it on here.

Mal good player but no where near SOS....

Only changes apart from SOS at Fullback would be Goodes & Akermanis out. Would look at Harvey, Crawford & Braddles. Need to think about it
a bit more and post a side up in the next few days....

He usually did go forward after getting pantsed by a full forward. I'm surprised they left him on Modra as long as they did.

And you have 4 players in the Ruck combination.

If I could change one position it would be Jarman instead of Aker. Where would you put Crawford ahead of Buckley,Judd, Cousins, Harvey, hird, Voss?? Not a contest imo, Aker is a specialist goal kicking forward, McLeod and Wanganeen are smooth and skillful back liners. I would not consider Goodes a ruckman considering an injury 5 years ago put an end to his Rucking duties and who else would play ruck?? Cox and Salmon

At 36 years of age people often forget how good Robert Harvey was in the 90's ... Tough team to break into I know, but I think I'd squeeze him in, as with all these discussions the game has changed a lot from mid 90's to say 2005, so always hard to compare players.

Couldnt give a rats bout that, Ablett Snr is still the best player I have ever seen. Geeleong were never going to beat Carlton in 1995 anyway. Carltons centre line was ridiculous. Good luck winning the pill when Williams, Bradley and Kouta at his best were in there.
