North need to defeat Carlton as they play the Cats next week at Skilled where Geelong haven't lost since Round 21 last year. Carlton need to win as they go to Qld next week and play the Hawks in the last round. The Blues would have to be outsiders to make the eight. Leigh Matthews will be cheering on the Dockers today as a loss in Perth would put the Saints right under the pump and hand Brisbane a lifeline.

The top four battle will be on for young and old next week with Adelaide needing to win to get top four as the Roos take on the Cats. Meanwhile, Sydney take on their bogey side with Collingwood needing to win to stay ahead of St Kilda and now Brisbane.
