A low light of his career as stated by Dean himself yet an offence that will probably end his AFL days as a player.

8 maybe 9.
Not sure how many points he's carrying over which makes a difference.

I think I heard something about a 30% loading.
Could reach double figures for that one.

I think he will get 5-7 weeks.
I would love to see him get suspended for the rest of the year + the first half of next year!

Idiocy.
Watching Sturt collect 8 wooden spoons was easier than being a Freo supporter in the AFL. This club is a joke and there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Ever.

There is no way what Solomon did was as bad as Barry Hall's punch on Staker. Surely he couldn't get more than 5. If he gets more than Hall the AFL tribunal is even more of a joke than everyone already thinks. Having said that Hall should have got more than he did for that punch. Considerably more in fact.

agree rod, no way was it the same as hall's but i think somewhere between 3 to 6 games since he admitted it wasnt good. so i expect him to plead guilty IMO.

I would have thought it was worse, a sly elbow to the face resulting in far greater injury than the Hall blow .. Bickley (rightly) got 5 a few moons ago for a pretty similar indiscretion and I think the AFL trys to take an even bigger stand on these things in the current climate, I'd think 6 or 7 for Soloman.

Worse than a deliberate punch completely behind the play

The resulting injury should have nothing to do with it. What if Hall's hit caused Staker to die? Would that be worse in your eyes then? Heat of the moment split second decision as opposed to a deliberate action by a complete f*ckwit. I know what i reckon is worse. Each to their own though. Regardless the Solomon hit was nothing on what Lockett did to Caven but people conveniently forget what a sniper and cowardly thug he was.

You could say that Solomon's action could have had the same potential ramification ... I don't think a broken cheekbone and fractured eye socket should be discounted at all ... As you said, each to their own.

Well just like in a court of law, premeditation plays a big part in sentencing. Will be interesting to see how the AFL tribunal sees this.

Hall got seven (correctly)for Stakers hit but didn't break anything.
Soloman should get more for the injury to Ling.

Absolute crap. The fact that Hall king hit a bloke behind the play is far worse than what Solomon did. I am not for 1 second defending Solomon because it was a dog act but Hall's was worse. The AFL Tribunal was weak with their sentence on Hall and will now have to give Solomon less than he deserves as a result. The difference between injuries is just pure luck. Had Hall connected in a slightly different spot he could have killed Staker and had Solomon hit in a slightly different spot Ling could have got up with nothing but a headache. The intent is what you have to base the penalty on and whilst i think Solomon should get 8 - 10 weeks it cannot happen when a worse incident only got 7.

Whoa!!!!
Don't think I'm defending that nut Hall or his actions.
Both incidents should get the same penalty (the
intent factor) but I believe you should get a little more tacked onto a penalty for causing injury.
