Jason Porplyzia

Postby Mulligain » Fri Mar 07, 2008 3:40 pm

Jason Porplyzia looks to be shaping up as a future star. Has been touted as Tyson Edwards' long term replacement, but I think he'll be better.

At SANFL level he was silky smooth, and as he gets fitter he'll destroy teams off his own boot.

What does everyone else think>?

Better than edwards? time will tell but i doubt it- Edwards has been quality for a decade-porplyzia is good once he gets the aggot- but doesnt seem to quite have the footy "smarts" edwards has......yet. I like him as a plyer nonetheless

He has had fitness issues in the past. That's why he was cut from the rookie list initially.

Is getting fitter but is still some way off the fitness of an elite player.

He's still a youngster, give him time.

He's skills and football smarts are pretty impressive for someone his age.

If not better than edwards then at least as good.

Like Stokes good late pick up and has shown that the time he has waited to play AFL is worth it. Clubs should look more at these two players as a top example.

If you think that's a big call, then try this on for size:

Jason Porplyzia will win a Brownlow medal.

Edwards is a very underrated player. I rate him in second place on the Crows best ever list, behind McLeod and ahead of Ruccutio.

His hands are outstanding.Clean and accurate. He could play a small forward like Ebert and be a 40+ goal kicker but the Cows need him in the guts.

He is a gun in the making IMO.
