Ian,

the Crows a very very keen, Port initially did not want to trade, however they are warming to a second round pick......

C'mon All

let's here it, Symes is worth a First Round pick, and if Port can't negotiate a first round, they are the worst traders

would be a good choice with a second round pick say 28

if the Hudson & Meesen trades go through with the anticipated picks 21 & 22

the Crows would be in a great postion with picks 10,21,22,27,75,91,107,123 and get Symes with 28!

Any picks over 30 this year you will doing well to uncover a gem.

Ebert will be gone by 10 i think and Rioli will be gone by 21 (Every chance of going top 10.) IMO

Touch and go i think. Could go at 6 or could slip to 10.

If Mitch Morton gets traded to Richmond SD do you think they will take Cale at 2 or stick with Cotchin and then Cale may slide to 4 or 5.

If Richmond take Cotchin, WCE will take Masten IMO. with Myers in their sights if he slips to 13

Mattner out Symes in, I'm happy with that trade. I always liked the kid when I watched the Power matches he was in.

the crows could end up picking up picks 21, 22 and 28

this would give Adelaide picks 10, 21, 22, 28, 43 and 59 in the draft

depending on how Adelaide rates this years top 30 draft selections, Adelaide may not chose to tade second round picks for players, unless it is someone absolutely specific on their shopping list

my thoughts on Symes

He was a classy junior footballer, winning SA's MVP at the U/18 National Championships, he also won U/18 all Australian selection.

As a junior, he played the majority of his football as a midfielder, this is obvious with his ball winning ability, ball use and decision making, however at senior level he has played only across HB

My only question mark is

The Crows should only consider trading for Symes, if they believe he has the capability to develop in to a midfield player.... i do not want to see the club draft one position players

Symes would be a great pick up, I agree, but how much better is he than Mattner? Are we any better off here?

he's got better skills in close and with people placing pressure on him especially his hands. personally, i think he's worth a second round pick - remember he was taken pick 30 in 2003 but not a first round and i think adelaide would be hard pressed to find anybody as decent with their second round pick who could walk straight into the starting 22 and perform.

Symes is a certainty to join adelaide

The crows will also have a huge GO at Roughead
