Ah well, if melbourne end up with a gun, imagine all the thoughts of those three clubs.
And they got rodan, byrnes and more.

Happy with the pick up for nothing. Kicks deadly accurate, makes the most of his opportunities. Will play majority of the year and help us climb up the ladder IMO

Melbourne have delisted Pettard, bate, Jurrah (obviously) and Bennell plus a few others.

I think Pettard will get another life, Jurrah might at Port but what about Bate. Can play a bit?

I'm pretty surprised that Petterd and Bate got the chop. I reckon they've been two of Melbourne's better performers over the last few years. Petterd's been a bit inconsistent I guess, but has shown glimpses. I guess they don't need him with the likes of Dawes and Clark now up forward.
Hopefully they both get opportunity elsewhere.

The news tonight stated that 14 players will be missing from last year's Melbourne squad. Is that some sort of record ?

Those talking about Buddy coming home, I as a westcoast supporter would love that chance but it won't happen, he has more friends in Melbourne than he had in WA and Is very settled with family also living in Melbourne..

On Demon de listings Pettard should get another crack if fair dinkum, Bate unlikely unless GWS want some experience bodies.

Is it a record this year for so many trades? Or is it the increased coverage the AFL gets from Foxtel

Not surprosed Pettard got the chop, the coach doesn't rate him. Bate is very limited and doesn't have all that much to offer. I watch a lot of Melbourne and while he tries hard there are just not enough tools in the kitbag. I was more surprised that Neeld showed the door to Gysberts and the versatile Stefan Martin. I think the Lions have done well with that pick up.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Carlton pick up Petterd in the PSD. I remember Mick rating him while he was doing commentary through the year.

I think it's more that there was free angency (for the first time?) and the time period for free agency and trade week(s) was longer than ever.

I'm not sure on the record, but I heard that even the premiers made 10 list changes!
