Shinboner Apology thread

Talk on the national game

I guess they are falling for the old shinboner story, win when underdogs but lose when favourites, we have been winning both this year which has been the key to success

The bookies havent worked it out yet either, we have been favourites in 5 games out of 14 so far and won 4 out of the 5 games we started favourites in

Also we are 10-4 At The Start this season with the bookies, only team better is Geelong at 11-3 including 9-0 in the last nine games

People often base tips around justifying a position or opinion they held at the start of the year. Human nature being what it is, we can't accept that we got something that wrong so keep tipping the other way in denial of what is actually happening.

eg, I state publicy at start of year that Collingwood will be shite this year .... I then keep picking against the Pies all year because SURELY I WAS RIGHT and the Pies sooner or later will prove that.

That's often why people do better in footy tips when the team they support is doing well

Thoughts Psyber?

agree Hondo, thats why I try to read thru stats to make my decisions, also in my punting I rarely take future bets for teams to win the flag or make the 8 as that clouds your judgement from your weekly tipping/punting...

It is amazing Dutchy and full credit to the guys. This fight for a final 4 and GF spot is wide open now and there is a great opportunity for whichever club gets their act together at the right time.

OK, I don't like doing this, but I will.

The Roos are a very good team, they play as a TEAM. They're also quite good to watch.

I was wrong.

The Roos will lose next week. The latest tipping factor is the second place curse! Image

Already West Coast and Hawthorn have been afflicted by this terrible curse and at Tassie next week it will be Dutchy's mob that feels its inevitable wrath.

I was there this evening and it was a very Rootine win - the team expects to win and is playing with great surety. I was in Row A sitting directly behind boundary rider Leigh Colbert - he seemed to be actually stopping himself from getting excited once or twice when the Roos goaled.

Next week certainly will be a huge game. It could go a long way towards the Roos cementing a top 4 place.

Good to hear Mc....so many Danger games the last few weeks but we keep knocking 'em off

Huge game next week, would expect the Hawks to win down there, but a win would put us 2 games clear of the Hawks....huge

Heres one for the Stats men...Has any team won in Perth Queensland and Tassie in one year before?

Big three weeks for the Roos which will shape their finals position and will really show if they are a genuine contendor.
