Sacking him if there was truth to it would surely be the easy option for Collingwood, another team would pick him up in a flash, the hard decision would be to keep him and work with him thru the issues, if there was issues at all, but that wouldnt make a good headline...

Why? She clearly has access to information that many dont and what amazes me is that her source(s) continue to give her the detail over and over again.

She is simply doing her job, and pretty bloody well IMO.

Agree with this point. The hard work would be to keep him and work through the issues.

My spin on that :

She'd have a very good source and even better legal advice.

I think players are fair game during the season, their private lives can fall under the microscope to an extent. However, I think that during the off-season, when these blokes are basically on holiday, then what they do with their time is totally off-limits. The fact that their private lives are coming under scrutiny during this period is complete muckraking and is a total reflection of the insidious nature of journalists like Wilson.

So it's OK for AFL footballers (or anyone else for that matter) to partake in alleged illegal activity as long as it is done in their own time. Noted.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

It's not illegal to have drugs in your system.

Not to mention the fact that recreational drugs such as speed, ice etc are performance enhancing (pseudo-ephedrine) allows them to train better. And yes they do train in their "break".

Clutching at straws now.

Pretty sure Swanny wasn't doing any training when he went and watched Steve Aoki in Las Vegas!

*chuckle*

Far from it, merely pointing how allegedly any AFL footballer in that predicament could be breaching the terms of his employment contract on two counts.

The same as I could be in my role - taking illegal substances.

Just wondering why their behaviour precludes them from any professional scruitiny?

Well explain the fact he turned up at training "disorientated" during the season, and subsequently suspended for 2 weeks. Don't forget many people working get drug and alcohol tested every day. And they don't get 3 striked. I don't feel sorry for anyone on that type of money. Pay me that much and you can scrutinise me as much as you like.
