Good move by the Kangas they need to do something to survive and I think it will be a winner for them.

with the drawing power we have to sell three games is anexcellent result
home games ,esp against interstate teams will be a big plus for us with north now not losing money on the gate
wouldnt suprise tho if the league decides to send the bigger teams down their just to keep the theme of dogging the roos after they said no to gold coast
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

So you'll make more money from having 12,000 at a game in Tassie than you would from getting 18,000 at the Dome?

Port and the Crows deals a footy part are a bit like that. The SANFL takes about 80% of the revenue I believe it is, so yeah you can see why they crows with all there members are not the financial powershouse they should be and why Port are struggling as much.

This is a good move for the Roo's. Good business move really. But the problem is that your going to lose money at 75% of your other home games! Thats a problem.

Great move, play GWS and GCS down there every year and make more $ in each of them than hosting Collingwood in Melbourne.

If the AFL keeps screwing us with the draw its the only way to go, have always wanted to visit Tassie so might tie in a holiday with a game.

lived in hobart for a couple of years back in the 1989 and 1990 seasons
the vfl/afl were starting to play a few games down their then and it was interesting to note that we had a huge following down their
mainly because one of the top teams in hobart was sandy bay who wore the roos colors
honestly believe we will well and truly beat the numbers we got on board while in canberra which was never a good mix
the mix in hobart and the roos will be good because of the fact that they are always believing they are the under dogs which is a good fit
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

Hmmm... am I the only one here who thinks NMFC is run by complete idiots?

While negotiating some deal to play games in Tasmania for a bag of money is, on the surface at least, positive... long term it's just another example of the club selling out and having no clear direction on what it wants to be. The club was entrenched in Canberra and getting good results (wins v losses) and I believe starting to get a rapport with the locals, but we jumped ship and whore'd ourselves off for bigger bucks somewhere else.

North Melbourne is always going to be seen as a basket case club because we can't survive in Melbourne alone, we refuse to stick at it and establish a second home interstate and we're too stupid to accept the move to the GC.

Brayshaw came in on a ticket that we would survive in Melbourne. Well clap, clap, five minutes later we're selling ourselves out for games interstate again. How pathetic. The AFL made a serious mistake not forcing NMFC up to the GC. It would have kept the league to 16 teams and avoided the stupidity of going to 18 and for North, it would have set themselves up as a strong, independant and viable club in the long term.

We might support the club, but surely we don't support the board in it's endeavours. They've been a complete and utter failure and not lived up to the hype they espoused when they took over a few years back.

Feel the same about Hawthorn and Richmond?

The tassie deal makes perfect sense, play GWS and GC down there where we would lose $ to play these games in Melb.

Really looking forward to the Roos vs. Essendon game. Massive clash for both sides..could be just the beginning for North or the beginning of the end for Essendon.

You have to stick with an area and we seem to move around for the highest bidder.

No real dedication.

Now we're just copying the Hawks.
