Perspective people!!!!

You lost 1 game against a team that all off season boasted about their changes and were out to prove something post their off field woes with the Port Magpies, sponsorship and membership issues. Whoop de doo.....

Havent read the 5 pages of this thread but I have said for years, when the going gets tough a footy coach will always come out on top of a sports scientist

Agree Gingernuts. Using the sports science qualification as a negative is getting old when you look at the resumes of the newer AFL coaches and the work they do in the background to even be considered for the role.

I believe Brad Scott also has a sports science background for example. Nathan Buckley will no doubt to something similar if he hasn't already.

That's not to say you can do it without the right footy background or that you have to have that extra qualification of course. But it's hardly something to use against either Craig or Scott IMO.

I don't reckon Craig should be sacked and calling for his head after every loss is Richmondlike. Still, when the same results keep happening there is no need for new material. Is this his last chance Gingernuts or do you reckon if the Birds fall short again he's worth another year?

I am starting to think this is his key KPI. Make it to the finals, use the same game plan and dont change anything.......tick
he is a good coach but i get the feeling sometimes he is not willing to try new things.

I think Craig is quite innovative. I just reckon he sometimes goes a bit defensive when he probably shouldn't like that final against Collingwood last year. There was some bizarre coaching in that game from both coaches IMO.

For Craig to break even this year the Crows need to at least make a prelim, and be a legitimate top 4 side. Bottom line is the side needs to match it with the big boys this year including knocking off a couple of them.

If the Crows stay the same as last year, or go backwards, then the call to sack Craig and bring in some fresh blood and ideas will be a valid one.

The Crows need to understand this If they want to win a flag in the next 5 years (which I actually think is possible  ) they need to sack craig, just get rid of him! They need a Aussies rules football coach not a Scientist. Also their recent run of injuries IS because of over training and someone needs to tell Craig that ASAP. Still think they will be top 6 tho
