Although he was there for about 4 or 5 years won a flag with them played in another GF before he went home. So you could argue that they got plenty out of him before he went back home.

I agree with what was being said on 5AA, this Dangerfield-Ebert thing needs to stop. I'm sick of people having a crack at this decision, it's not fair on either of these two young kids. I for one am tired of all the trash talk Dangerfield cops, especially when he hasn't even set foot on the field yet. These kids go where they are drafted and they try to make their careers with those clubs. Leave them be.

Far too much pressure on B. Ebert today. People continue to talk the situation up and I felt particularly sorry for him when the crowd jeered at his errors; this is a young man who is trying to make his way in the AFL and thanks to a select few IDIOTS in the media he finds himself under all sorts of scrutiny before he gets his first kick! Poor form, it really is. For the parents out there, imagine your 17 year old son copping the sort of crap Ebert (and to a lesser extent Dangerfield) has so far.

Nonetheless he found a bit of the footy, burned it a bit but that isn't surprising. Was an intense contest to experience in your first game, especially with all the external pressure coming into it. Showed he can get himself to the right spots and will no doubt settle. Looking forward to following his development from here.

IMO the only people that play this comparison game are those single minded supporters that make the easy observasions and believe that we should only recruit SA lads

And the singled minded and resentful non-supporters, who are just looking for something to pick at... 8)
I agree with you, people should lay off this issue, and give both kids a fair go, without the pressure of being used as a weapon in other people's sniping.

Pick 10 P.Dangerfield vs Pick 13 B.Ebert

Postby the joker » Mon May 21, 2012 5:37 pm

Looking back at some of the comments now makes you laugh.
Looking at that draft now
The top 4 would probably be
Dangerfield
Cotchin
Rioli
And harry Taylor or Kreuzer
The crows also got walker with the last pick in that draft

Cotchin would be number 1 IMO (not being bias)

and walker went so low due to the NSW scholarship he held with the crows

I think even the most one eyed Port supporters will concede Dangerfield is the better player.

The final part of the equation now though is whether he stays with the Crows, although admittedly that does seem more likely now.

Dangerfield currently the standout but a bit harsh on Cotchin and Rioli who have performed well for years. Dangerfield having a great year but needs to sustain it, has been in the system for a few years and only starting to see the best of him.
Reckon he will stay with the Cows unfortunately

Dangerfield is definately the better out of the 2. But I don think Ebert was being held back a bit at the eagles, just too many better quality players around him. I think now he has more of chance at Port he will improve a lot more. I think the biggest thing for Dangerfield this year is he has learnt how to get his player sucked to the ball allowing him to get free.

Yeah i think Cotchin, Rioli 1-2 and Dangerfield at 3 all will be special though.

Breaking news in Adelaide. Patty Dangerfield is awake, has had some breakfast and is about to shower.
