I liked it. Carlton will cop some clogging we all know that but at least they're going about it the right way through youth. Not washed up hacks like Thomas.

I could've watched that for hours. Very enlightening.

As much as I'm wanting the 2016 season to be over and the pain of previous years to subside, I'm really keen to bring on the 2018 and 2019 seasons to see the development in our young players after watching that video. I can see it's not going to be quick, but there finally is light at the end of the tunnel.

I reckon it's interesting that you guys that support other clubs can see the positives in what we're doing. That's heartening to see from my perspective too.

Well done to the Blues for taking this project on in Bolton's first season. I could see validity in not allowing the open doors policy as a junior coach.

Agree with this. Th3y have gone the clean out and looking at the kids now. Will get some hammerings but will also see some good signs of improvement as well.

They were going ok until they sacked Ratten and overestimated their list. Other teams to do this include Richmond and Geelong..and possibly North. It's not a good look. Now at least they are realistic and this is the basis of moving forward. I'm hoping the Cats are too but the off season shopping list might suggest otherwise.

Ratten was the biggest mistake and thinking Malthouse would take the list all the way.

You're right, at least they've wiped the board clean and started again knowing it's a long term project.

Watching the Journey - The three for free guy voiceovers are a bit annoying - whoever wrote the script was clearly trying to pitch this at carlton supporters rather than the general audience. More marketing than journalism.

Having said that, Brendan Bolton is very impressive though. Should have just been him talking the whole time

Why couldn't it have been journalism too?

From memory ports one from a year or two ago was much less blatant.

As I said I thought it was still good, it was great to hear Bolton speak

What would you have liked to have known?

The idea was to get the Carlton supporters excited, hearing Bolton address the boys, get to know the personalities of the new players a bit...

It was fly on the wall stuff not interviews etc where all the players and coaches say the same cliched crap...

This way you get to see them as they are, in different situations...

Give me something like this over scripted interviews and same ol' same ol' answers every day...

As a long suffering Carlton fan, I was actually excited for this season, sure we'll get flogged on occasion but at least we know the young lads are in good hands, with a good teacher and someone who wants them to grow not just as players but as people..

It was honestly just the narration haha

less "the mighty bluebaggers" and more "carlton have been shit for a while now, is bolton going to turn it around?"

you can see why bolton got the job, certainly more to him than the happy go lucky persona he had when he took over for a little while at hawthorn

and yeah, this year there might actually be some light at the end of the tunnel for carlton. im expecting a year similar to st kilda a couple of years ago.

Few kids in that side which was likely I guess. Also Kerridge looks to be a good pick up to add a big body around the ball.

I wonder how much Walker still has in the tank? Would you be better off trying to blood another tall?

He's lucky to make the 22 IMO.

I think we need Walker up forward. I can't see us kicking wining scores though.

I note "the Animal" Jones and Tutt aren't in the side. GOOD!
