I agree, was merely posing the question with the AFC under the spotlight they are under....

The Adelaide Football Club has withdrawn its first two selections of tomorrow’s 2012 NAB National Draft as a gesture of goodwill towards resolving the Tippett matter.

Chairman Rob Chapman described it as a common-sense initiative that is in the Club’s overall best interests.

It would result in Adelaide having picks 62, 81 and 95 in tomorrow's draft.

“We are in ongoing discussions with the AFL,” Mr Chapman said.

“This gesture forms part of those discussions and is made in good faith.

“There are pressing deadlines with the Draft and our priority is to see Nick Joyce back on our main list. This will now happen at the Pre-Season Draft.

“So we see this as a pragmatic gesture made in good faith. It’s all about seeking the best overall outcome for the Adelaide Football Club.”

This.

Sounds to me the AFL are pulling the strings on this one.. There is no way in the world the club would especially give up pick 20 if there was no bonus in doing so

Exactly.

Crows lose pick 20 in a good draft year.

For the "better of the club".

So the better must be good!

I'd say no. Have your picks this year, start next year with -points, and miss out on first 2 picks in the following 2 drafts

Most probably the Adelaide lads will now get picked by an interstate club and never come back to Adelaide as they will end up on good wickets.

What a load of carp. I doubt anything the Crows hierarchy say will ever be trusted again.

They could have had picks 21, 23, 54 and Jesse White, now they have nothing... Time to go Triggy

But they are still innocent, just giving up picks out of the goodness of their hearts
Hope the AFL still whacks them next year

What a crock of shit. As a gesture of goodwill turn it up. If the AFL let the Blackbirds fly this shite then watch the rorting fire up big time.

Especially if the depth of the draft this year is rumoured to be thin. I hope they lose picks next year as well. Loaderbollocks.
