Geelong were the first team to properly break it down and there was always going to be a response from some degree from Adelaide and changes made. Other teams will find ways to challenge them again and it will most likely be this week.

Come finals time if they make it do Adelaide have the true class, depth and talent needed to win big matches through the middle third of the ground? I honestly don't think there are doubts in the front and back thirds. Time will tell.

**Edit**- WB were probably the first team to break it down, however they did not really cap off their work and still gave Adelaide a chance.

With Atkins Milera Cameron and Lyons joining the midfield rotations and doing well, the midfield depth doesn't look as big an issue as it did at the start of the year.

The high end class does though, it's Sloane and then daylight. So I think he will have to have a blinder in every finals game for us to go deep. But I think we have enough talent in other areas to make it. And a home final isn't out of the question.

I think you should be aiming for a home final at the very least.

Still a lot of work to be done but 8-4 is a great start to the season, many "tipsters" thought the start of the year might have been 0-8.

Big game against the Roos after the bye.

Great work last night in the West. You have all seen my initial thoughts about the effort, to grind WCE to the ground at Subiaco is a credit to this group.

I listened to 6pr in Perth this morning and as they said WCE looked flashy for 2/3 of the match but then Adelaide tightened up and really ruffled up the Eagles both on and off the ball. Every person was bought to ground at contests and the ball carrier was often gang tackled. That simple tactic stopped the Eagles run and slowed the game down so Adelaide could counter attack by getting more numbers to each contest.

Pyke coached extremely well, I thought we were cooked when we went 26 points down.

Just sitting down and watching the game again. Charlie Cameron has improved unbelievably well. He reminds me of Lewis Jetta when he was an integral part of the Swans line up, however Cameron is a better tackler due to his Rugby background.

Laird is so important to the defence, I think it's no secret that when he was not in the side we looked a little shaky with the ground ball in defence but mainly our connecting through half back went completely to shit.

Gotta give it to the Crows, I was one of those that thought 0-8 a real possibility, so to be 8-4 with their draw is a brilliant effort. And to think that in all 4 losses they've been in potentially winning positions late in the game. Be interesting to see how the year pans out for them.

Yep, the week off whilst we have consecutive 6 day breaks (nice one AFL) coupled with 4 players already out and 4 more injured last night.

I remember the AFL doing this to us. Three six day breaks, two interstate with the third match in Sydney. Nek minet 110 point loss. Nice to have an easy draw for once.

6 day breaks against poo opposition. cry me a river and play all other 7 top 8 sides and throw in Geelong and Port in the first 10 rounds and then get back to me
the fact is, you can't have everything go your way.

The fact is Champion data have North's draw as the hardest.
If our first half was so "easy" (Adelaide, Bulldogs, Sydney included) then our second half will be tough.
"6 day breaks against poo opposition"? So you're including Adelaide & Hawthorn in that category?
No crying, not asking for everything our way, just stating facts.
Adelaide will have a 12 day break whilst North will be playing their 3rd game in 12 days on Thursday week.
Try & contain your sarcasm for 30 seconds - but you'll excuse me if I'm a little dirty on this.

Classic north Melbourne. Complain about not getting "their" Friday night games. When they get them, they complain about 6 day breaks.
