It's all well and good to post 2 frames of evidence. If you watch the video on the Verdict on the AFL website you see Thompson get a slight push, Thompson just braced himself for the collision and stood his ground.

Miles off the ball, contact with the head... fair call IMO

Joke!!! miles off the ball!? it was about 5metres off the contest & the Melbourne bloke ran straight into the line that Thomas was running on... Sh*t again by the mrp

That's how I see it too Swervyn, Thomas was running to the the contest.

Not sure on that one when I first watched it, thought Thomas was a bit harshly dealt with. Then the second / third view I thought it was a little off the ball, and it was certainly high. Worth two weeks? Not in my book.

He was jogging in a straight line and the Demons player cut across him. It looks like its in slow motion, but thats actual speed (the second to last replay), so it was more of a token bump than anything. Not even worth a free kick in my opinion.

If you can't make head high contact with someone in a contest then they are not going to let one thats off the ball go unpunished.

I think the biggest issue here is not whether Thompson got games or not but the consistency of the MRP. One week Ziebell gets 4 weeks for keeping his eye on the ball and accidentally hitting another player high. The next week Thompson gets off scot free for accidentally hitting Johnson high albeit after being given a nudge. I have no problem with Thompson getting off after what happened as long as acts like Ziebells are treated the same way in the spirit of the game. And that's from a Cats supporter who didn't appreciate Stevie J getting his head knocked off - accidentally, of course!!!

Yep, thats the issue. Most of us agree Thompson had no case to answer, nor did Zeibell, yet the difference in punishment is huge.

What did Glass get? Almost identical to Zeibells but he hit a brick shithouse...

Glass is shattered, he got a game, had 5 years of fair play go in his favour aswell as the fact he ran into Brown, anyone else in the game would've been hurt and it would've cost him more IMO.

The MRP got them all right this week IMO, I go for Geelong more than the crows but could see that Thompson has nowhere to go.
Lindsay Thomas was just foolish, the little glance back to make sure ho got him didn't help either.
Glass was lucky to only get one but that's what being disciplined for a long time does for you, he also tried to minimise his impact.

The main reason Ziebell got games was because he jumped off the ground, If Thompson had of jumped off the ground he would have got games also going by the MRP.

Yes mate your too boys have been shafted which makes a change from the Crows getting the rough end of the stick.....

Like the rough draw they copped this year ;)

So a supposed easy draw = unfair results with the mrp? Good logic.
Just tell me of any other club that DIDN"T play in the SAME STATE 2 weeks running until round 14?

Tom Harley on Channel 7 says nothing it it but Wayne Carey on Triple M has crucified him

I almost thought it looked as though Johnson ran in to hit Thompson and came off second best. I am not sure how this will play out because from the angle I have seen it (and I have only seen one) Thompson looked as though he had his eyes on the ball and Johnson created the impact. I would hate to see him get games for that but the MRP has amazed me all season so he will probably get some. I think that Johnsons head hitting the ground would have caused more damage than the actual hit, but that is just my opinion.

The guy that pushed Thompson should get the games if anyone.

Yeah I'd be worried too. But then again, I can't recall us losing eight games in a row to anyone.

I was just doing my tips for this week, I looked at the Cats vs Hawks game. The Cats hold an 8-1 advantage over the last 5 years, I was a bit shocked , I cant recall us beating them, any of you Cats fans recall when that one win was?
