Talk on the national game

Horror start to the season. Doherty as mentioned above and Coleman both gone for the year with knees.

Bowey from Melbourne has a broken collarbone and is expected to miss 8. I would think that is a best case scenario.

Good game in Sydney. Giants get 2 late goals to lead by 19 points at the half.

Brown has 4 from 4 kicks.

Personally I'm devastated for Doc. Cancer, 2 reco's already and nearing the end of his career. He deserves some success the poor bastard. From a team perspective, that's two ACL's now.

Opposition wise, Coleman cut us up in the Prelim last year. His use of the footy was elite in that game and was cementing his position in in Brisbane's best team. Just a horrendous injury for him - I really do feel for him. The only good thing is that it wasn't a 'twisting' injury, so unlikely to occur again (hopefully) and he should have a great career ahead.

Going to be hard to see how there isn't more injuries each year. Speed and size hurts and damages!!!!

The AFL can try and slow the game down but they will see that as reducing the entertainment. Size cant be administrated against.

SCG holds 48,000. Why couldn't 5.2 million people fill it?

South Australia has 1.7 million people, why can't the power and the cows fill it every week? *Footy State

Western Australia has 2.6 million people, why can't the dockers and eagles fill it every week?? *Footy state

Cost?
Better things to do?
Date?
Time?
The fact that footy season seems to stretch even longer each year?

All the fuss about Cox and Mumford was a bit strange. Mumford wouldn't have done anything.

Not unless Cox was on the ground with a few blokes on top of him and Mumford could drop the knees in. Then he would have done something.

Sad isnt it....

We saw 4 pretty decent games on the weekend, all with their own stories yet this little nothing issue seems to have taken up a huge chunk of the airways.

Maybe, not sure I've ever seen Mumford pick on a big bloke. Or someone standing up. Or someone looking at him.
