Yep, the Monday night NRL game is a huge success.
Would love the AFL to have a permanent Monday night fixture

Monday night footy would be good, but I reckon to be successful in terms of crowds it would have to be played between mainly Vic teams and at Etihad with the roof closed, which could create a programming nightmare with rest times between rounds. They could probably manage 1 game every 3 rounds.

Can't believe it hasn't been made at least a fortnightly fixture yet.

Monday Night Football wouldn't be about crowds. It's about TV.

We're not American yet. If the AFL is about TV then they're a long way off

Skilled Stadium and Adelaide Oval ?

AO isnt much bigger than AAMI
But Metricon and Skoda are small and the AFL are looking at building a boutique 25,000 seat stadium in Melbourne or doing up Princess Park.

Princes park would be logical one. Still has most of the stands. Is great to watch footy at. Carlton are considering when the Etihad deal is over playing the lower drawing crowd home games at princes park.

Thats what they want the boutique for.
Melbourne v Gold Coast at MCG this week infront of 7,000 people will be embarassing.
Will lose money by opening the gates
Low crowd games should be at Princess Park

Think it would be a great move to do up Princess Park.

Didn't the construction of the Legends Stand at Princess Park almost send Carlton broke?

Yeah but the AFL are paying this time.
Currently considering 3 options
1- Do up Princess Park
2- Do up Punt Road
3- Build a brand new 25,000 seater stadium
I would think number 1 is the cheapest and best option

Off course I have stats, I don't post without knowing the facts first. Lets take a look at disposal efficiency

Lets use some leading disposal gatherers to use a comparison method

Watson 181 @ 70.2%
Swan 181 @ 64.3%
Ablett 180 @ 66.1%
Mitchell 177 @ 69.5%
Kornes 179 @ 79.3%
Swallow 170 @ 70%

Cotchin 170 @ 61.2

In fact if you use the 20 leading possession gathers Cotchin has by far the worst disposal efficiency.

What's Judd's? He has poor foot skills normally. Cotchin is only just behind swan anyway. Depends where you get your kicks also.

64.2% for Judd...he was never a great kick but used to break the lines to cause most damage. He is way past his best but is good for attracting the heavy tag.
