if buddy leaves hawks

roughy starts getting best defender and 2/3 men on him at a time.
he wont be doing what hes doing now.

I think Gunston is coming along very nicely.
Another 5kg on his frame and I reckon he will become a very formidable forward...

He will get the second defender before he gets the 5 kilos. Not sighted until he kicked the goal of the year against your owners.

While Hawthorn bask in the glory of this years Premiership, it would be remiss not to acknowledge the very significant input of all the other clubs. Without them, none of this would be possible!

Adelaide – Thanks for Jack Gunston. Also thanks for taking Darren Pfieffer at #17 in the 2005 draft, allowing Hawthorn to select Max Bailey at #18.

Brisbane – Thanks for travelling down to Launceston for the round 14 game, which became the record equaling club “consecutive wins” game.

Carlton – Thanks for being so obsessed with growing ridiculous beards during the season that footy became secondary. Also thanks for taking Matt Wilson @ #18 in the 2010 draft, allowing Hawthorn to select Issac Smith at #19.

Collingwood – Thanks for the customary “8 Premiership” points every year!

Essendon – Dank(s)

Fremantle – Thanks for coming on Saturday, and bringing your purple army to bolster the Victorian economy!

Geelong – Thanks for taking Tom Gillies at #33 in the 2008 draft, allowing Hawthorn to select Liam Shiels @ #34.

Gold Coast – Thanks to Gary Ablett for winning the Bronwlow Medal & not tying for it with Joel “duck my head” Selwood.

GWS Giants – Thanks for taking 11 players with your early picks in the 2011 draft, but allowing Hawthorn to select Brad Hill at #33.

Melbourne – Thanks for taking Max Gawn at #34 in the 2009 draft and allowing Hawthorn to select Ben Stratton at #46.

North Melbourne – Thanks for Josh Gibson & David Hale.

Richmond – Thanks for taking Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls at #8 in the 2005 draft, allowing Hawthorn to select Grant Birchall at # 14.

St. Kilda – Thanks for the annual percentage building win in Round 20.

Sydney – Thanks for taking Patrick Veszpremi at #11 in the 2007 draft, allowing Hawthorn to select CYRIL RIOLI at # 12.

Port Adelaide – Thanks for giving the captaincy of your club to Dom Cassisi and sending us Shaun Burgoyne. Also thanks for Brent Guerra.

Western Bulldogs – Thanks for Brian Lake. Also thanks for taking Tom Williams at #6 in the 2004 draft, allowing Hawthorn to select Jordan Lewis at #7.

West Coast – Thanks for absolutely nothing in 2013, which is co-incidentally exactly what you gave your supporters!

Probably better off thanking St Kilda for Guerra, as that's who he was recruited from.

You may also want to thank the AFL for the now no longer existent priority pick rule, that allowed you to get Franklin and Roughead in the same draft.

Because Richmond took some bloke with pick #8 it helped Hawthorn with pick #14?

I'm happy to excuse them with the amount they would have ingested over the last 48 hours.

I guess the point is they took "some bloke" when they could have had a gun.... as with a few other clubs.

Should Geelong thank Hawthorn for delisting Gary Ablett snr all those years ago, coz without that GA jnr wouldn't have ended up at Geelong under father/son rule then helping them to win 2 flags with him & 1 after he left or is that too long a bow to draw.
