Only one "Adelaide" team, but you're right, I dont see the Adelaide Crows or Port Adelaide making it. ;)

After Round 22

St Kilda - 42pts - Kangaroos (Etihad), Carlton (MCG)
Sydney - 42pts - Geelong (Skilled), Brisbane (SCG)
Essendon - 42pts - Port (Etihad), BYE
Kangaroos - 36pts - St Kilda (Etihad), Richmond (Etihad)
Fremantle - 36pts - Collingwood (Patersons), Bulldogs (Etihad)

So I have :
6th Sydney - 46
7th Essendon - 46
8th Kangaroos - 44
to Miss : St Kilda 42, Fremantle 36
If the Saints can manage 1 win they will finish 6th

The Saints might beat the Blues. Can see us "resting" a couple as we finish 5th regardless....

Well, with my work sales conference being in Melbourne and some connection via our board of directors it will see us visit the St.Kilda rooms before the Saints V Roos clash at the Dome on Saturday night.

Looking forward to it actually. Should be a decent hit out with two teams fighting for a spot in the 8.

Perhaps, but keep in mind the Bye in Round 23. Two weekends off wouldn't be doing them any favours.

Got a real bad feeling about this week, with all our injuries we will struggle to put a decent side on the park. Wont be the massacre everyone is expecting. If Saints do the right thing by us and win then sundays game willbe meaningless. Realistically if we cant beat Port we dont deserve to play finals

Despite my undying hatred of Blockhead Taylor, I watched AFL League Teams tonight and I can't believe how bullish the panelists where on North Melbourne's chances this week. They all picked the Roos, although Brad Johnson must have had some skunk before the show because he tipped against the Bulldogs.

They kept talking up the Roos despite the fact that Mark Harvey's injury whine gave the pea-hearted Dockers an excuse to put the cue in the rack which they gratefully accepted. No wonder the Roos looked so good...so did Melbourne when Freo played them in Melbourne. Meanwhile, 'word' has it that more than the omitted Saints in Kozi and Dawson were crook last week so it was a slightly off colour Saints unit that flunked it's road trip against Sydney last week. Maybe you could ask your hosts how crook they were last week Booney.

So in conclusion....North press before a big game equals another North loss to a top eight side. North aren't saying as much as they did before the Pie game, it is external this week but same old same old for mine and the Saints will get the job done.

Top 8 is set.
Bombers are back even if only for a week 8)
West Coast have the double chance.
Saints and Swans get to fight for the home final next week, Swans are in box seat with a home game against Brisbane whilst St Kilda face Carlton at the MCG

Channel 10 now (Andrew Maher  ) saying first week finals line up is pretty much set. If Essendon beat Port tomorrow by about 20 goals, they will jump Sydney (who should win next week) but then St.Kilda could get pumped by Carlton next week.

Could end up...

6th - Sydney
7th - Essendon
8th - St.kilda

Saints v Carlton 2 weeks in a row would be interesting but cant see it happening. Our percentage is that crap that we would have to beat Port by 150 and Carlton beat Saints by the same. Just hope the Saints soften Carlton up for us next week

I think Hawthorn will finish 2nd, will this make any difference to wether we play geelong at the MCG or at Ethiad?
Does one final have to be at ethiad?

Reckon the first week of finals will be:

Collingwood vs West Coast (Fri N MCG)
St Kilda vs Sydney (Sat Aft ES/SCG)
Geelong vs Hawthorn (Sat N MCG)
Carlton vs Essendon (Sun Aft MCG)

Only doubtful finishing positions would be if Hawthorn can finish above Geelong should Geelong lose to Collingwood and Hawthorn beat Gold Coast by 15+ goals. The other is if Sydney can finish above St Kilda if they beat Brisbane and St Kilda lose to Carlton.

A bit of a meaningless last round!
