If your member in winter and something happens in winter youll get access and visa versa in summer.

But it will not be crossed over. Otherwise they wouldnt offer summer/winter/fulltime memberships.

If any of the above membership gets you 12 months access to events. Who would honestly buy the full time membership. ???

Honestly, and don't jump on me for this, I don't know. Honestly, you don't know. To start a debate about it would be a bit pointless if we are both speculating about what we assume might happen. The SMA web-site doesn't mention these type of events at all.

Once the final details are released I am happy to debate or discuss them you.

Not being rude but i do know as I have asked as a concerned saca member. They can not promise Im going to get access to events for 12 months of the year as previously stated without a full membership.

Now that could be lesser members will get equal access and go into a draw for tickets like saca have done previously ie Kings of leon tickets.

So I could have the ability to go in a draw to win tickets. But they could not promise access to all the events we get now without paying $$$$$$.

They could promise access to SANFL games though although Im not sure how that will work.

Let us not start assuming again what everyone does or doesnt know. Whats the saying about never assume.............

1000 apologees smac. i got you and CP's quote mixed up. Honest mistake.

Yep I was about to say that was me, but I got straightened out on that one.

Thats the point, put these new stands up and it immediately loses its appeal as one of the most beautiful grounds in the world, you cant see the cathederal, the hills, the city skyline. And dont tell me the northern end wont be "filled in" at some stage.

There is no hope of this vote passing the SACA members, no hope at all....

One thing we can be pretty sure on. If they build a new stadium with a roof most non-cricket events (all concerts) will be lost to the AO and your membership anyway. And all SANFL games. They'll have to reduce your membership fee to keep you all on board.

And there's my point regarding getting caught up in pessimism and conspiracy theories. Making up things to insight negativity. People keep throwing stuff like this in which clouds the rational debate about the issue, it's a real shame (not trying to have a go at you Dutchy, but just pointing out people dealing in rumours and innuendo rather than the facts of the development).

I take your point on losing the views of the city and hills, but I think unlike the concrete jungles of some of our eastern neighbours the early designs have been very cautious of keeping the feel of the Oval. The new stand is a perfect example of what can be achieved, and I am confident all parties would not just let some concrete monstrosity go up.

Im not sure on that at all and I doubt you are 100% on that theory. If U2 touring from April to October I know which venue I would think we be favourite to host without interuption to its schedule.

And I know that if it took 2-3 years to build the new stadium. SACA would have a monopoly on the market in that time.

can i refer to you my last post re:assumptions.

We are having a debate about the potential ramifications of this development. The future of the AO competing with a new CBD Stadium is a worthy debate if SACA members feel their NO vote is a YES vote for a new CBD Stadium. That last point is itself an assumption. To take assumptions out of this debate would reduce to posts linking to official press releases and documents only. We may as well freeze the thread until your official voting documents come out.

You refuted my assumption with an assumption of your own, for example. You assume the AO will corner the market on concerts in the next 3 years. Who knows?

If the redevelopment happens it's 3 years away so most of what we are discussing is assumptions and opinions. We don't even have the final details of the proposal supporting your vote.

Your assumption or opinion is no better than mine or anyones. I have heard rumours I haven't posted on here because they are just rumours with no other source I can use to back it up.

Another point that should be made is that should the development proceed it's not like Adelaide Oval will be handed over to the AFL/SANFL to be raped and pillaged for their own purposes. The SACA will still be a (if not 'the') key stakeholder in the development, and will have a very big say in designs etc.

so The latest scare campaign is now the new CBD stadium will completely take over everything from Adelaide Oval based on what ??????.

For the 100th time can you please stop with your doomsday assumptions if SACA members vote against this. Its getting predictable and tiresome mate.

What is the number one venue in Melbourne mcg or the newly built etihad ?? How much mcg struggling due to etihad ???

Competition is healthy as stated by Bill Sanders and Wayne jackson who dont not have a hidden agenda. And it has been healty for the last 40 years. Why do we have a big 4 in banking ????

Why does every other capital city in Oz have two stadiums.???

Please Hondo let us not do this again!!!!!!

Anyone have any info on making a absentee vote? I won't be able to attend the meeting for SACA members in early May.

Two good examples of what makes a beautiful stadium is Newlands, Cape Town and the Pallekele Stadium in Kandy. I was impressed with the surrounds and the ground of the latter stadium last night. As you stated Dutchy, there will no longer be that to say about Adelaide Oval.

I don't understand what's wrong with Port playing a few matches there now. See how it goes, and Adelaide Oval gets to host AFL matches. Win/win.

On Triple M now, they have said the vote will be pointless, there is a loophole on the SACA constitution, it is through. Even if every SACA member votes no, its a done deal.
