Good to see Carlton making a stand. We all know how seriously they take the NAB Cup.

A MELBOURNE family's Christmas has been shattered by the death of a young driver in a horror head-on smash at Dandenong.

The 21-year-old man from Dandenong was killed when he lost control of his car on the Princes Highway about 10pm last night.

Police believe the young man's 2002 Nissan sedan crossed a median strip, near the intersection of the South Gippsland Highway, and collided with an oncoming Holden Astra.

The other driver, a 19-year-old from Berwick, is helping police with their investigation. Authorities will prepare a report on the accident for the coroner.

Metropolitan Ambulance spokesman Ray Rowe said the man, from Dandenong, died at the scene.

The other driver (19) happened to be Carlton's rookie Levi Casboult who was involved in the end of season xmas boat cruise saga where he was barely conscious from drinking too much and now survives a head on crash this morning.

He rang his dad to come and get him that day. Im not sure the exact circumstances, but there is more to this story than meets the eye (im talking about his dad coming to pick him up after a day on the booze).

I believe it was another player rang his Dad to pick him up, after being handcuffed to a senior player and being forced to go drink for drink

His old man was always going to pick him up regardless.

Not a good start to the year for any of these 3.

Walker has had so much time invested into him and he needs to repay the club, while Betts is becoming a serial offender and needs to learn quickly.

Hoops is the real one in trouble here, He is a good player but he is now 28 and was dropped to the Ants last year in a bid to improve his KPI's. This setback could be the start of the decline for Houls, I know he is not the brightest spark but i hope he learns from this mistake and gets back into the side because his skills are exactly the thing Carlton need coming out of the back half and through the middle.

Malcolm Blight famously stated that, when he was at St Kilda, the drinking culture was "500% worse than he had ever imagined". Wonder what his thoughts are on Carlton's. It's quite astonishing, in this day, that a club should have so many issues - particularly after showing the door to the player who was most commonly maligned as the problem.

Ah yes a pearl of wisdom from the Blight era at St Kilda. As if he knew WTF was going on in Sleepy Hollow when he was coaching the Cats.

To think that the league threatened to sanction the West Coast Eagles on multiple occasions over behaviour issues.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Stop. He's played for Geelong too. REB won't be happy.

Shall we start a thread for all ex footballers and what they've done wrong or just blokes who played a few games for Carlton ?

Pfft. Justine Murphy. He may have worn our jumper (and Richmond's and Essendon's) but his heart was always at Carlton. If you ever seee the 'Milburngate' match you'll see what I mean.
