I can see your point, but Fev also brought an element that could undermine his own team on the park aswell to the point that many pundits openly expressed a thought of "Carlton can't win a premiership so long as Fevola is there" - Obviously thats just speculation, but it's easy to see where that school of thought came from.

Whilst it's going to take time for Carlton to assemble and develop a team capable of challenging for the flag, I think they were a bit away from a premiership anyway so the sooner they start planning for the future (which includes sending the right message of what will and wont be tolerated at their football club), the sooner they should end up with a product they believe capable of a legitimate crack at the flag.

Why am I not surprised that Hitler has a few words to say about Fev leaving?

Could all three play up forward or will it be a case of Jb outside 50, fev from the goalsquare and Bradshaw down back?

thatds what my first thought was
JB will play out the 50 with fev in the swuare, bradshaw to play in the pocket
staker to take CHB
good position for them to be in
they just need a quality small to crumb of the 2 big guys in the forward 50!

Bradshaw can play where hes needed. This has definitly added to there flexibility. With Buchanon in the middle as well and having Raines (if fit) across the half back. Adding to there already impressive youngsters and experiance, I would suggest they will be as hard as old boots to beat up there. Well place for next season in my opinion.

Carlton fans shouldnt dispear, although Hendenson and pcik 12 arent anything exiting at the moment, henderson can play and will be good value in the future. Perhaps its time for Kruzer to move forward and these 2 youngsters can team up for a forward combo. Granted next season your probably not ready for a tilt at the flag, but perhaps there the possibility when Kruzer fully develops that you might just have the tall timber there to have a tilt? Certaintly with Fev, Cloke and Wiggans sometimes you werent that close.

Fev was kicking 80 odd goals when we were "winning" wooden spoons too. Two seasons ago we weren't playing finals.

As a matter of interest, when Fev has been injured a bloke call Waite filled in a full forward and IIRC collected bags every week, and I think 3 goals in a game was his lowest tally.

We may take a step back, but overall the outcome will be better. Fev only had a 2 year window to get a flag, and no way that going to happen....

Bags? 5 or less does not really constitute a bag in my eyes.

So a man who has never kicked over 40 goals in a season is your answer for losing a coleman medalist who constantly kicks 75+ goals?

People are under rating Henderson a bit on this site, Is going to be a very very good player.

No the answer but a answer. If we can Waite at FF and big K at CHF, with Hendo in a pocket and have Yarran, Garlett & Walker hovering around, it'll look OK.

The problem with having the Fev was, we were too Fevcentric. This will now hopefully give other blokes a chance to shine.....

SJABC you cant be serious a person of your knowlage cant be for real if you are putting waite on the same level as fev? i'm a waite fan aswell he can play no doubt but fev is a gun no question he is a 3 or 4 time coleman medelist??? and a true full forward and in my eyes a gun.

in my eyes brisbane are huge winners in trade week and must be on the 3rd or 4th line off betting for the flag. IMO
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

It may depend how many other Brisbane players emerge as drunken yobs under his guidance, who would not have done without his example to encourage them, or whether his behaviour with the local WAGs sows dissension in the ranks. I expect he'll behave better for the next 6 months though - it has probably been a shock to him that they wouldn't let such a "star" do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.

I'm quite devastated to be perfectly honest. I thought the only way we could come out even would be to get Bradshaw and someone else. Given that Fev has kicked 170 odd goals in two years, we need to kick about 4 to 4 and a half goals a game spread around our forward line. Kruezer, Betts, Yarran, Fisher, Cloke will need to share the load. Personally, I just can't see it working.

The real disappointing part from my perspective is that we'd been building for a few years now to have a crack at the top 4 but now we rebuild again.

I understand the reasons for letting him go, however I can't see how we might be set for a tilt at the premiership in the next 5 or so years, which is realistically our window, given that Judd will be over 30 and closing in on retirement if not already retired.

I think we'll finish 9th, 10th next season if we have a good year.

And I admit, I did think Carlton were bluffing in trading him until the sexual harassment "claim" came to light.

I can only hope Bradshaw gets the sh1ts on.... walks ....and goes into the preseason draft, whereby we pick him up. Here's hoping.

Even with two and three on Fev, those "extra" free players couldn't crumb (Betts, Yarran, Gartlett).... I really hope you're right but I cannot see it working.

Mmm forward line has gone from looking good to pretty average IMO.

Waite is a good player, yet to be convinced he can hold down FF, Kreuzer will still be spending plenty of time in the middle swapping with Rob W and while he has huge potential still needs another year or 2 before he makes CHF his own. Hendo has been playing backline for Brisbane and is unproven at this level (Very good player potentially) Yarren and Garlett are young, inexperienced and inconsistent so you can not afford to rely on them to heavily and Walker is lucky to string 6 games in a row together (Although i do hope that changes).

If this is what your forward line is going to consist of next year then tell the boys to make other plans for September IMO.

This is a strange one, he said apparently that the facilities werent up to scratch which is strange because im pretty sure there opening a new $15Mil facility in the next few months. Hence theres some other issues there perhaps.

Going to be a good player for someone to pick up in the draft.
