If Adelaide play Bock this week and he "falls over" wit ha longer term injury and misses much of the pre season 2010 will be a slog for him. I would bet in the modern world of AFL footy they would at least speak of this to the doctors.

Just ask Trent Croad ...

No comparison, he was heading into a Grand Final not week 1 Elimination.

True, but the result could be the same.

Interesting Emergencies. Davis or Armstrong to debut in a final if someone drops out of Slone to play only his 2nd game.
With Steven sore could Davis come in tomorrow...

Let me pose a question to crows fans who obviously read this site. I think they will beat Essendon easily tomorrow night, but if they lose the next week has it been a good year for the crows or not. Any thoughts....

Very good question, and as i said previously, we win, the year has been a success of sorts no matter what happens the following weeks. We lose tonight, and its basically been a failure of a year. There are obvious positives to take out of this year if this happens, but once you start talking about 'finding positives', you know things have fallen below expectations.

I know the word 'Pretenders' has been thrown around alot on here over the last week, and after some thought, i think that Adelaide are pretenders at this stage - which IMO is nothing to be ashamed of. They havent been able to beat any of the so-called 'contenders' this year. I think most people would agree that Adelaide have the ability to be serious 'contenders' in the very near future though.

Word is McVeigh is still very much in doubt for tonight.

So, do you think that Essendon will try and go the biffo like they did last week? I reckon they might try and get under some skins early on. Won't help them though.

Hopefully McVeigh plays and his hand is no good.... did you see the news footage of him? didnt look good at all

The crows are to disciplined to worry about the biffo... our name isnt Hawthorn and we have to act tough to play well ;)

Just had a read of the gutter rag.
Plenty of people saying this is the best ever crows side etc. etc.

Unfortunately, if they do win tonight, I cant see them getting over StKilda or Collingwood in Melbourne the following week.
Hope I'm wrong.

Like I mentioned in another thread, I reckon half the time they talk up Adelaide so that if/when they eventually lose they can go to town in the opposition direction.

Can see it now:
"A side many experts touted as better than the 1997-98 premiership sides fell dismally to an undermanned Essendon/out of form Geelong.....

Sensationalise everything and then you can have the best of both journalistic worlds.

Splendid idea, will keep it in mind.

Most Crow fans would have to agree, this appears ( on paper ) the most balanced line up that Adelaide have ever offered. Even in 97/98 *shudder* the forward line was make shift at best and took extraordinary efforts from Jarman,Ellen and co to get over the line.

This forward half is clearly the best Adelaide has ever had.

Mate, you nailed it. I think I read that very sentence at least 5 times this morning, and heard it at least another 4 times on the radio.

I look forward to your next piece if/when the Crows join the losers list.

I believe I picked adelaide to finish around 8 - 10th so I believe they have done well so far. but still I reckon crows fans would be bitterly disapointed if they lost tonight, but then again when arent you disapointed if you lose a final?

Just don't want a repeat of last year. Still having nightmares of those hacks Jack Anthony and Chris Dawes slotting multiple goals.
